The Day The Street Changed -An Original Poem

Updated on July 7, 2016

The Day The Street Changed

The street still isn't the same

since that cold and rainy day.

That day when thousands of us

waited for hours

to be graced with your presence.

Standing for hours,

until I saw you walking down the street.

This wasn't happening.

It had to be a dream.

There you were,

standing right before my eyes.

What was once a dream,

had become a reality.

My tears of happiness

became one with the rain

as both came down,

heavier and steadier.

Only a few seconds

and then you left.

Had you in m sight for a moment,

that was all that I needed.

Two months since that day

and that very street,

no longer looks the same.

What I see

when I walk down that road,

are the memories from that day.
