The Empty Writer

Updated on March 3, 2011
Source

He lived in a world of fantasy,
Romance his drug of choice.
His sword of tender verbiage
drew blood without a voice.
He presented as a gentleman
whose heart was unfulfilled
offered his undying love
to fertile lands untilled.
He seemed to have a keen sixth sense,
could smell a wounded bird...
claimed he was of guileless heart
then stalked with bow of word.
Silently he would appear and
chose his victims well
by wooing them with compliments
into his lap they fell.
He would fill their goblets with
the promise of a kiss...
his whisperings of passion led
his targets to such bliss.
These sweet romantic interludes
would feed his fantasy...
plying words of passion that
evoked their ecstasy.
And then before they knew it,
once he had had his fill...
the fodder he had foraged
onto paper he would spill.
He lived in a world of fantasy
romance his drug of choice...
gleaned his inspiration from
blood drawn without a voice.

Romance! Akin to skipping over stepping stones in quicksand, as with this hub. Risky but worth it

Thank you kindly, vrb! yes, romance is a drug unto its own, indeed.

Quite a "nice" (hate word nice) rhythm to your "work." Like the way the words, phrases, and sentences flow. And romance is quite the drug! Welcome to hubpages. Looking forward to reading more.

Epigramman, It's an honor to meet you. Your reputation precedes you like a runway red carpet! I read Fossillady's hub about you...you merit rave reviews! That gives your comment to my first hub much weight, indeed! Thank you! I most humbly thank you!

..absolutely brilliant my new HUB friend - there is nothing empty about your writing that's for sure - it's so full of rich imagery and has a cinematic quality to it which allows me to imagine visuals but at the same time to be in awe of the words you choose .......
