Endomorph Body Type: The Endomorph's 'BOTTOM' Line...

Updated on June 19, 2013
Are You an ENDomorph?
Are You an ENDomorph?
What's YOUR Body Type?
What's YOUR Body Type?

Endomorph, Mesomorph, Ectomorph...

The Endomorph too seldom sees the beauty of her wares,

Discounting all the compliments, the whistles and the stares!

So certain is the Endo she received the 'shortest' straw,

All Butt and Boobs and Bountiful - she reckons it's a flaw!

They must be eyeing the Mesomorph - so muscled and athletic,

Oh, what the Endo-girl would give - to be born with such genetics!

Or twas perhaps the Ectomorph - where such interest was directed,

That lanky silhouette leaves the Endo-girl dejected!

The Ultimate Endomorph...
The Ultimate Endomorph...

Yet while the Meso may run faster, and can wear most anything,

It's the Endo more men dream of - to accept their wedding ring!

And whilst the 'model' Ecto struts with nay a soft bit jiggling,

The boys are more attentive to a booty-licious wriggling!

Confidence is sexier than all naughty bits combined,

Recognize you're beautiful - or all others shall be blind!

So no more body envy - walk proud and shake that booty,

Cherish your uniqueness - each one of us holds beauty!

The END-O...

Ms. Monroe defined sensuality - keeping millions of males content, Your body is what you make it - say farewell to the Endo's Lament!

Many of you may be thinking to yourself: WTF? Where did THIS come from...lol..

Well...it came from a STILL very popular series of 5 articles i wrote on body types - Mesomorph, Endomorph, and Ectomorph - with emphasis on the Endo!

Links are provided if this topic is of interest to you and - this is the very first poem...

      I so hope you enjoy!...

Loved this one and I get the first comment.: This comment coming from an Endomorph whose 'end' is gone and who has 'morphed' everywhere else.

As you say... it is all in the attitude, and I love this dear old body of mine much more than I did the one that got all the stares, way back when.

Never ceases to amaze me how you can make a poem out of anything... sharing, and laughing all the way...

Recently read about the many shapes included in Mesomorph, Endomorph and Ectomorph.

I commend you for an important and awesome poem reiterating the importance of loving our bodies, no matter the shape.

As you state - true beauty radiates when self-confidence exudes.

      Great job Leslie.

Voting up and sharing. I am always impressed at your attitude as well as your wide ranging subject matter!

Okay, here I go. First let me say that men responding to your article need to be particularly sensitive. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What is attractive to one is not so attractive to another. As the saying goes, there's a lid for every pot.

During the opening home baseball game for our local Triple A team, my young friend and I realized we were getting older (we were maybe 12) and that "YES" girls were so interesting. You see, the person selected to throw out the first pitch was none other than Jayne Mansfield. To say she knocked our socks off would be an understatement.

I have always preferred curvaceous women. For instance, I thought Loni Anderson looked so soft and cuddly. Then Burt Reynolds ruined that image for me. I also dated a female body builder for a few years and that was quite an athletic adventure. Along those same lines maybe that is why I was drawn to Tina Turner's strength of voice and body.

Eventually we grow up mentally and add a few pounds here and there. That's okay. Our priorities change. The attraction becomes one of compatibility, compassion, kindness and a caring and loving heart. Emotional beauty brings a person to the realization of someone's physical beauty, whether real or imagined.

Taking the focus off of women I need to add this one little tidbit of mine. No males, no matter what age, should EVER be allowed to wear Speedo swim suits. I understand this could cause a border war between Canada and the U.S. considering the number of beer belly Canadian men in Miami that wear these during the winter months. Seriously, do they think they look good in those horrid suits or don't they care? Of course Ms. L. as you know from one of my previous articles, on Sunday mornings I do like to still do "The Naked Polka."

I love it, Leslie. How much distress is caused for gals by mistrusting their own bodies' shapes and desirability. And others often agitate their lack of confidence, some even deliberately.

But probably the most appealing feature in either a woman or a man is the person's sense of self & comfort in it. Whoo hoo!

      Your poem is delightful! Thanks!

The butt of people's jokes, the wardrobe malfunction, getting it off your chest, beer bellys, belly dancing, washboard abs, when considered intellectually: all that is mind boggling. A good rhyme for the times.

You are such a blast! Always fun, but beneath the fun always provocative ideas and good writing. It's the combination, rather the BLENDING of those skills that gives your work the edge. And women and their bodies? Right on! Celebrate the YOUness of your body! It's your iris scan, your fingerprints, your voice recognition. It's you. Wasn't it Mae West who purred, "If ya got it ,Baby--flaunt it!" If just ONE self-conscious woman feels better about her toosh because of your poem, you've paid yourself forward for a year!

Another really good one, Leslie! Which I really appreciate since I'm an endo myself! When I was in high school I hated being one, became almost anorexic, down to 110 lbs, then down to 105, on what was then a 5'4' frame. I wanted to look like the "Ecto" model type girl so badly!

Now I'm 5'6" and weigh a lot more than 110 lbs., but alt least I appreciate myself for what I am! It's nice when teenage guys and college freshman still check out my curves, LOL!

Leslie, I started the day with the Endo's Lament..and (Endos please forgive me) could not stop laughing. But the message is serious. Girl, why don't you write something on the Ecto's private jitterings too? :)

You are who you are. Why do people put names on who you are? Each are born to be as they are if they take care of themselves. Gene's play a huge part of they looks and shape.

It use to be a regional things years ago before everyone became so transient. It use to be that those born in the Northwest area of the U.S. were more Pear shape and others from another region were more busty and smaller butts and another region of the U.S. they were more of the Ectomorph. Why these different region had an influence on body shape is unknown. Now that people are so transient that doesn't stand out like it use to.

Ethnic's also plays into this, Asians are known to be flat and that straight figure, Blacks, bigger bust, butts and more of an hourglass figure. Europeans, shorter and apple shape bodies. But also mixing of gene's and different regions has influenced changes in shape.

To me, it depends on the individial, whether it fits them or not. But with all morph's it makes life interesting with variety, eye candy and exciting...

Oh, age can change things in a hurry, as things spread and girls sag, butts flatten and the momma pouches get bigger, Oh well, that's life! Every human is different and that's fun..

I think we have to be thankful for our body and not judge others. We judge ourselves quite enough that it is. I don't complain about mine... I have more like a straight body ...almost no hips and not a lot on the top either.... but I can eat chocolate....except for the cholesterol ;-)

But it is a definite truth that if someone "wows" you it doesn't matter if the are built like a shoebox...

Great examples though... and very informative

A very good hub on self-worth and body image. For some reason, society and fashion magazines have made women believe that if they have to look a certain way in order to be accepted. There are a lot of men who don't like fat women so this puts even more pressure on those women to be thin and stay thin by starving themselves or being bulimic. It's all about loving and accepting yourself for who you are.

Lol... You're too funny! Why were your ads disabled? Let's just say that I'm very well-proportioned from the waist down so that must make me... hmmm.

Great hub m'lady. These two stanzas are my favorite.

This one made me laugh the most.....

"And whilst the 'model' Ecto struts with nary soft bits jiggling,

The boys are more attentive to a booty-licious wriggling!"

While this one couldn't be more on the money....

"So no more body envy - walk proud and shake that booty,

Cherish your uniqueness - each one of us holds beauty!"

The bottom line (excuse the pun) is that we are all different...inside as well as on the outside. The key is to like and accept who you are as well as what you are. If you don't like who you are on the inside...work on changing that! If you don't care for what your outside looks like...you can work on that as well. (within reason). Love yourself and you will see that others will do the same. Just be yourself and be happy.

Some women like big burly men...others not so much. Some men prefer petite women...some believe "morph" is better.

Great hub on a great subject. Voted up and shared.

Ladies as do men come in all shapes and sizes. I have met both sexes whose minds were as big as their assets, and others who have a great physique but nothing worthwhile in the grey matter department. I agree looks are always in the eyes of the beholders. There are so wonderfully, brilliant, sensitive, loving and amazing overweight people in our world.

Size and shapes should never be frowned upon, let's enjoy their talents and their hearts. My choice if given one would be an endormorph shape as I love when there is more chicken on the bone. Although I must confess I love butts and breasts. In the grand scheme of things, give me personality FIRST over looks and shapes, that's the key to a most enjoyable relationship for me. Hugs

Starving to be thin is counterproductive - and just plain dumb - i can tell you this because i watched it first hand - in multiples..

to me - it's all about balance - i don't eat at 8, 1, and 6 - never did...i eat when my stomach says eat and i stop when it says stop..

Such a timely hub for me to read as I try to shed these few pounds after a long winter.(In Texas a long winter cannot be more than two months or I am done) I am okay with how I am I guess..not too stressed but when the jeans start getting too tight, I tend to get a little cranky but if the jeans are fitting I am a happy woman. My fluffiness does not favor one area more than another, I would say it is an equal opportunist!.lol

age. . .they LOSE their asses. I mean, seriously, the damn things quite literally disappear! Where there was solid roundness before, in declining years men have a flat plane of bone that will no longer perform the simple function of holding up their pants. So we get to gawk at a most unattractive beginning of the separaton of. . .well, you ladies have ALL rolled you eyes over THIS one, so I need not "define" it for you. So how about it? How about a HUB on the aging male NON-ass?i

Leslie, wonderful to know you adore my BF because he adores me. I just 'told' billybuc that I have so much admiration and respect for a person who happens to be their partner's 'heaven on earth'.

Talking about the issues of skinny people. My sister Santa - 2 years younger than I - is one of them. She would do anything just to buy at least a size small in the ladies department. She HATES to be confronted with what most women mean as a compliment: "Look how slim you are! How do you manage to be so slim?" Yes, she absolutely hates it. So one day she paid me back: "Oh, feel how cuddly you are. How do you manage to be so chubby?"

These kind of compliments are actually like stepping on someone's bunions...

      Just saying....

Oh, how will I ever be able to hate you? You are totally adorable :)

@ Wayne - Yes, I agree with you... and there is so much more...

Must confess that I can do with minus many pounds plus jacked up boobs/butt and a lot of botox. Though my BF prefers natural above superficial. Of course, I am not willing to live with grey hair. At present my hair is flaming red with black low-lights. I plan to add some electric blue low-lights soon.... Lol! (Sadly, I cannot afford the rest of the weapons against age. But nevertheless, I can still be sexy without it.)

@ ImKarn - Sadly, shit happens. May it never happens to you; may you live and love happily forever after :)

I enjoyed reading this, Leslie. You have a beautiful talent in Writing. I particularly liked the end too:

"Cherish your uniqueness - each one of us holds beauty!"

      End of. lol.

Thanks and enjoy the weekend. xx
