The Essence of Love

Updated on October 31, 2013
love is found in a simple flower's beauty

Love is like a crystals of sparkling Glass
Love is like a crystals of sparkling Glass
Love flowers as the Spring, from within our hearts
Love flowers as the Spring, from within our hearts
Love is patient and heaven sent
Love is patient and heaven sent
Love scales the greatest heights
Love scales the greatest heights

About Love

Love denies oneself..

Despite of all temptations.

Love does not conspire..

give in to human desire.

Love is giving rather than receiving..

is generous, and a sharing spirit,

No matter the hardships experienced..

despite the worry, and fear of it.

Love is a passion but not for passion's sake,

It is more of a giving, than a cause to take.

Love knows no limits, nor heights to scale,

For in truth, in the act of loving, one cannot fail.

Love is all serious, and not a frivolous game,

For in true love, devotion given, means the same.

Love is working, when a body may not go on,

yet, finds the strength, a resolve, as its aim.

The essence and defining quality, of a loving person,

A heartfelt sharing, a spiritual gifting, from deep within.

It goes beyond the greatest limits of all expectations,

A defining moment, of its best meaning, to be a friend.

Love is strongest of all human emotions, a gift to last forever,

Love is of an insight, and not to count, as to be lost, no..never

For in loving, there are no wrongs, or of a losing, in its cause,

Is the motivating substance, responding in greatest applause.

Beautiful! It reminds me of I Corinthians 13 - and that has so much to tell us about love. Thank you for a truly lovely poem.

Well whonu - you just know that I am going to "love" this one. Everything you poemed (is that a relevant word) is so true and so beautifully said. You might not know that my new mantra is "Love Never Dies". Hubs, and thank you once again. Craiglyn

Very good and truthful definitions of love. Only genuine lovers can come with the right words to express the right sentiments. Thanks for sharing, my dear friend.

Love is all that no doubt. True love - that agape love - divine love from above, is the highest of all love. To die to self, so to not think of oneself but of others and love them, even when they are very hard to love. This what you have written here reminds me of what they Bible tells us of what love really is and what it is really not. We are only able to truly love others as He first loved us, and we must be able to actually love ourselves to be able to love others too. It is so easy to love others who love us, but what about those who do not love us, that is where is really gets hard to love as Christ loves.

      Voted up and away. Sharing.

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper
