The Eyes of winter - poem

Updated on December 17, 2010

Looks like colors are fading,

Weather is getting cooler each day,

I feel it in my heart,

Winter is coming to stay.

Humans and animals alike,

Bundle and hide away.

And as the weather changes,

More plants die each day.

Leaves shrivel and let the wind embrace,

They scatter like pieces of a broken heart.

I sit watching closely,

As the world begins to fall apart.

A white blanket becomes a grave,

For everything has died,

Winter has killed everything in site,

Like a summer storms strong tide.

The eyes of winter open wide,

Never to shut again,

Captivating me with its beauty,

Leading me to fall to its sin.

Eyes so sad and dark,

Looking in form the past,

Frozen tears begin to fall,

As winter takes hold at last.
