The fairies who live in my garden

invite you to tea.

But beware—

These fairies

dwell in the darkness of deadened souls

and ride the Wild Hunt

in search of prey--

Both human and not--

To adorn the hall

of the ErlKoenig Hill.

Should I know what ErlKoenig Hill is mythically or otherwise? Sounds like the start of something longer.

Schubert, right? Portrays my ignorance and Germanic paucities.

Der Erlkoenig is a poem by Goethe--and has been set by a Schubert among other composers--I am just likening the Erl-King's hall to a fairy hill--German tale with an Irish twist

I have to return to this one again; Dai bought me two books for Christmas

'Flower Fairies of the Garden' and 'Flower Fairies of the Wayside.'

They are written by Cicely Mary Barker; your poem is as good as any in this book so don't ever give up on writing ;I think it is your destiny .

      Take care my friend.

      Eddy.

Simple, eloquent and moving. I've always been enchanted by the little people fluttering about in special places, not knowing their beauty or their scorn. Yet to see them would bring joy to this poet's heart. Beautifully expressed Audrey, Bravo my poetic friend.

I really like this one. You have a light, deft touch with words, but your poems do not feel light or slight. They are solid.

As a child I always believed the fairies could be found at the bottom of our garden. One can always live in hope:) Perhaps they still do and it is my hope that another child who lives there finds them there.
