The Fall of Day

By Tony DeLorger © 2012

Imbued with colours of unearthly hue,

sunset delivers its resigning adieu,

and shadows long tie up the day,

until the darkness overcomes the fray.

In misty blues the moon endures,

a frosting glow to life ensues,

and in silent steps the night is worn,

in cloaked travail and mischief born.

In that serene and eerie state,

when light subsides and darkness aches,

for shadow life and cold desires,

enacted far from homely fires.

I often find my thoughts to free,

the hidden secrets inside of me,

those thoughts and wishes that haunt my mind,

if life were different and I in kind.

While others seek some rest from day,

with all the thoughts and hopes to lay,

until that orb marks end of night,

and colours rich adorn the light.

But I still question just who I am,

in shadow of my daily plan,

when all that is turns off at night,

and other worlds unveiled delight.

Thanks Leslie, I'll try not too. I do lapse occasionally, but that's being human. Thanks for all your support.

Mmmmm...my second my favorite time of day - after sun up - another awesome hour of contemplation...

me thinks - Tony - that whence you stop questioning who you are - that will be the day you stop evolving..

      i like how you've 'evolved' - please - don't ever stop!
