The Falsehood

Far away from the Zopo Mountain, lies the village of Zufu, a suburb of Greater Zufuha. The chiefs and people of Zufu are very peaceful. Zufu is a community of hunters and fisher folks.

One Saturday morning, the chief awoke to a rumor that was so disheartening and gut-wrenching. A prince from the neighboring town, who was once refused the hand of marriage of the daughter of the chief of Zufu had complained to his father the Chief of the neighboring that he was abused by the people of Zufu and therefore craved for his village to go to war and destroy the people of Zufu.

There was fear and panic all over the land of Zufu. The chief of Zufu had realized that his people were gravely afraid because they knew their soldiers were not well equipped for battle.

An emergency community meeting was organized and the people awaited to hear what their chief had to say. Chief Zufu debunked the rumored allegation and said nothing of that sought had ever happened and that it was all false.

Chief Zufu then called on all his people to treat the rumor as false and encouraged his people to try not to retaliate but be at peace with the people of the neighboring villages.

Chief Zufu then sent letters to the other villages to explain how false the entire matter was. However, the other chiefs wondered as to whose story was true or false.

All the chiefs, including Chief Zufu, consulted the wisest priest in the entire who resided at the peak of the Zopo Mountain. His name was Zoposu.

Zoposu the wise priest cast a spell which he called, “the spell of truth”, and when this spell is cast, whoever began the lie will unconsciously tell the truth.

Instantly, the prince of the neighboring village who had started all the falsehood began to tell the truth and to explain his agenda for that act, all to the hearing of the chiefs and princes present.

The prince was rebuked and banned from entering the village of Zufu. Peace was once again restored between the people of Zufu and all the neighboring villages.
