The Faraway Land of Dreams

Updated on April 10, 2017

There is a special place so deep and dark,

And a place where sleepers all long to be.

This special land, a name called "Faraway",

Where Only in your dreams, you may see.

It's the only place to be whatever you wish,

Whether it's a king, queen, or brave knight.

Here fantasy rules and sweet fairies dwell,

All about the vibrant gardens, in their flight.

This faraway dreamland, everyone's resort,

and it is here where all are invited to come.

Time does stand still, its miracles to reveal,

Wooden soldiers march to beats of a drum.

Butterflies all flutter, upon tall flowers to land,

While miniature musicians perform in bands.

Unicorns to prance, display a special dance,

Bright birds of many colors, spread their fans.

There's just one catch and for anyone to see,

This faraway rest, its joys, there forever to be.

Is deepest sleep, in our dream world, its spell,

For it's only in dreams, there that we may dwell.

As morning's early light to brighten the daytime,

And the hum of honeybees to drum in our ears.

The "Faraway" story there does ring to be true,

It's not our minds playing tricks, as we bid adieu.

I like Faraway Land. This creative poem awakens past dreams in such a land as mystical and magical comes alive. I long for that land once again while I believe this poem opened a door to it.

I love that Faraway Land. I go there quite often as I put my daily tasks on automatic pilot and let my mind drift.
