Forbidden Secret

Updated on July 6, 2013

FORBIDDEN TO REMEMBER, TERRIFIED TO FORGET.

I'm going to smile like nothing's wrong. Talk like everything's perfect. Act like it's all a dream... And pretend it's not hurting me.

See the tears on my eyes?
See the fake smiles on my face?
It tells of an old story
A 'once-upon-a-time' case.

It's a secret I cannot tell
Sacred and forbidden
Only our hearts knew
What is really going.

For it dealt with heartaches
A very sad and unending bittersweet reality
For destiny is against us
And won't even give us a chance.

We had to part ways
Though it's breaking my heart
What happened to us all those times
Remains a secret no one knew from the start.

Forever this secret be unknown
And forever be sealed
No one will ever know
Till the time for us ends.

Hi Voronwe, maybe your message is not intended for me? Just that I never received your first comment though..and you said here, " you didn't like my previous comment".

I apologize for it seems that you didn't like my previous comment. Was merely hinting that you could quote the header and that it was a 'memorable' line many would recognize. Ofcourse it's your hub to control your comments...I just wanted to be clear on what I implied.

Beautiful poem. I can certainly feel you have been heartbroken somewhere in your life. Not everyone is capable of revealing a deep secret and will live with it for different reasons.

Writing is a great place for release, and works for many. Keep writing as you write well. You will find others that will relate to your feelings. I wish you the best to find the peace you need and to mend your heart.

      Voted up and beautiful!

Unknown, you're on a roll! Keeping secrets can eat away at you, make you wary, weary and can even make you sick. Putting your feelings on paper, or in today's world, in cyberspace, can help relieve some of the anxiety. Hopefully, you now know you are the master of your own destiny. Only you can make the decisions and changes to point you in the direction of happiness and satisfaction with yourself.

Love yourself first and you will reap what you sow!
