The Garden of my Heart

Updated on March 16, 2012

The Garden of my Heart

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Ever growing,

ever searching,

the garden of my heart,

where thoughts

like tendrils

yearn for light,

in silent twist and turns.

And suck the truth

from nature’s earth

for strength

and knowledge find,

to flourish in the sunlight,

a loving life discerned.

Blooms of multicolours

imbue my heart’s desires,

of passion and life’s vitality

of promise

and love aspire.

Ever growing,

ever reaching,

the garden of my heart,

where hopes

like massive sequoias

attempt to touch the sky.

The bounds of my small garden,

expanding every day,

each shoot and bud,

my thoughts alive,

in loving stark array.

What beauty holds,

in life and growth,

is open all to see,

the garden of my heart,

the open part of me.
