The Girl and Her Tree

Updated on May 3, 2012

The Girl and The Tree

She sat in the treehouse which over looked the fields

she thought about life and all of its ordeals

and she wondered to herself who she might be

when its time to be different , when its time to feel

because he heart stopped beating a long time ago

she ran on things she did not yet know

but she laughed and smiled and said she was fine

and people thought she was great and sometimes kind

but if they did not like her it would cut like a knife

so she sat in her treehouse and thought about life

while the birds whispered around her and they knew well

what life had in store for her and they would not tell

the grass stood still on the fine summers day

and they spoke too fondly of her until she turned away

the world conspired against her and she was too innocent to see

so she thought of her loved ones, in her protective tree.

This is actually the coolest thing ever. Everything about it, it's like it was tailor-made to appeal to everything I love in poems. DAMNIT, why can't I favourite things on Hubpages?!?
