His Glasses: Inspired by Adam Young

With your rose-colored glasses,

You bring joy to the smiling masses,

Like a child with an eager dream,

You shine brighter then a star beam,

Shy and wary but insightful to the core,

With delectable words, you're never a bore,

Open wide your soulful eyes to enjoy your heightened life,

Reality passed you by, but it's not without some strife,

God will help you stay innocent and true,

All you can do is be uniquely you.

To the Sea

If I dreamed a dream as big as yours, I'd fall into the sky,

You'd meet me there with open arms and ask me not to cry,

The wind would sail our tiny ship across the fervent sea,

The stars would shine above the clouds, to wink way down at me,

As the warm sun leaves, we both will yawn,

With love and dreams we'll both set sail, and journey 'til the dawn.

A good friend of mine gave me some of his music a few years back. He had a show here about a year ago, but I wasn't able to go :(

What do you think of the new album?

Now THAT'S a good friend lol. That's sad; I saw him once in Atlanta for the Myspace Coca-Cola free show. I love his live shows with the full band, including the beautiful violins. I love the new album, 'All Things Bright and Beautiful', but I'm still getting used to his new sound. Some of the songs are typical electronica that he puts out, but other are more rock, pop, and even rap on 'Alligator Sky'. Overall, I still love it and I really like the new music videos he put out. The 'Alligator Sky' music video is dreamy and 'The Deer in the Headlights' video is awesome and hilarious. I wrote two reviews for songs from the album on here, including 'Alligator Sky' and 'The Real World'. What's your opinion on his latest?

Believe it or not I actually haven't gotten around to getting it yet! I previewed most of the songs on iTunes, but other than that I haven't heard much from it. I'll be getting it soon, though.

Did you hear the cover of In Christ Alone he posted on his blog?

Get it and then tell me what you think of it; please :).

Yes, I did; absolutely beautiful and reverent!

Oh, I love To the Sea! It has a wonderful rhythm that follows through in all but the last two lines, and I can easily hear myself saying it aloud. =) Voted up!

I'm about halfway through the album now. Listening on Spotify, which is the best thing ever, by the way. So far, Angel is my favorite, but I won't make that official until I finish :)

Yay! I'll have to check out spotify; I've heard a lot about it. 'Angel' is one of my favorites as well. It's hard to pick one that is my absolute favorite. I guess I would have to pick 'Galaxies'. Although, I do like most of them. Thanks for sharing your experience; I can't wait to hear what you think of the rest!

Re. Galaxies: I've been listening to Galaxies and I like it a lot. But the tune of Alligator Sky seems to stay in my mind more, for some reason.

I am a big fan of both, but I know what you mean. 'Alligater Sky' is more of a hit song (probably why it was made his first single of off his latest album). 'Galaxies' lyrics mean more to me and probably other Christians. So, both are awesome in their own right.

Like I mentioned on another page, it's the rhythm of Alligator Sky that so easily stays in the mind...
