The Golden Fountain

Updated on March 3, 2011

I found a golden fountain bubbling with a heady brew.

I paused to sip its flowing...unto it's depths, I drew.

An unknown magic tingle this elixir did imbue.

From but a drop of magic, a sweet craving did ensue.

A drink from such fair fountain, sparkling with the brightest hue,

lures in sweet seduction, causes dreams to burn anew...

drawing all who sample to a world explored by few...

The secret of its powers, hidden by its own taboo,

reveals its sacred glory to those, who passion doth pursue.

Yes, I sipped from such a fountain, of its rich and heady brew.

My broken dreams, once buried, were revived and then they flew...

to soar on wings of passion reaching heights of purest view,

and thrill to share its magic with all who yearn to sip it, too.

All of your comments are so heart-warming...they just thrill my quill! (smile)...I have to be honest with you all...I wrote this piece yesterday morning, when I was supposed to be packing to leave for a trip. I wanted to post it before I packed and posted it prematurely. Generally, I do about 25 re-writes before I post a poem...I like to polish things off before I publish, and then will often edit again and again until I am satisfied...In my impatience, I didn't do that with "fountain" and have since edited it several times and am now satisfied. I think the rhythm and flow are right, finally. Your wonderful feedback was that much more sweet. Gosh, I love you guys (and gals)!

..... you always touch my heart truly with your poetic vision - and what makes this experience complete - is I know the person behind the words to be every bit as pure and soulful as her words!!!!

Your hubs just keep getting better! I'm actually anxious to log in to Hubpages just to see if you have published anything new. You've done a wonderful job at captivating your readers with this poem. Moreover, the way that you actually pulled me into your words was simply breathtaking. Beautifully written :)

      Hello tender Heart

I do not know who you do it. Such pose and beauty in your poems, they lift off the screen to wrap themselves around ones self in a warm and comforting embrace.

You seem to always get my votes tnderhrt23, very nice, you are inspiring to hopeful writers such as myself. This piece actually made me think of writing, maybe even of hub. Because I once dreamed of being a writer and eventually gave up the dream of ever pursuing it professionally and I thought I didn't quite have the talent. Since hub, with just a sip it is all rekindled and I am drawn and lured ever closer and push harder to reach new levels. Much thanks and appreciation for your work!
