The Hulk - Barnsey's Attempts at Poetry

Updated on April 23, 2012

One of the Best

Hulk was always one of my favorites from childhood. My first comics bought were hulk and superman, Batman and Spiderman, Xmen comics and Legion of Super heroes novels. I didn't have a preference over either comic company. I loved it all. I often wondered who would win in a fight between some of the DC Heroes and Marvel Heroes. There were some graphic novels back in the day that did a short series based on this. I recall Teen Titans meet the Xmen fondly. Together they fought Dark Pheonix and Darkseid. Way cool.

Hulk to me would have defeated Superman only because there is a limit to Superman's Strength. Whatever that limit may be Hulk will match it and surpass it in order to properly Smash. However as stated below there is always the threat of ol'blue tights laying the twin eye lasers through Hulk's cranium and throwing him toward the Sun. Hulk may or may not die from that but the battle was lost just the same. What do you think?

Enjoy this fun rhyme I scribed as I pondered how much grub a fella as large as the Hulk could throw down! Don't mess with the Hulk.

Incredible Hulk

Further enraged

Banner is weak

I widen my cage

Let the Hulk speak

You thought you could fool me but you forgot about my brain

Hulk is the strongest there is and he is the smartest just the same

Your weak list of powers make Hulk want to smash

Your rambling convinces Hulk you are hiding all the cash

Hand it over villain and live another day

For Hulk is always hungry and someone has to pay

What? You think its easy staying this huge? It takes food to keep my muscles like this!

Banner is weak, by the way, and Hulk is the strongest there is.

Who would win in a fight between Hulk and Superman?

      Great Poem.

I am one of those rare people who actually enjoyed intelligent Hulk in the comics. However, for movies and television the Hulk and Bruce Banner needed those duel identities.

I voted for both dying in a terrific fashion because, well....since they are from two different companies I believe they would rather see their characters die than lose.

Loved it!!!! I think the Hulk would totally take Supe, especially after the events of World War Hulk, he became more ruthless and cunning, and those two attributes combined make for a scary Hulk!

Ah yes, but what would superman do with that knowledge? Knowing him he would go try to "save" the Hulk rather than take him out, in his weakness Hulk would surely Smash!

This is great stuff...a really good poem about The Hulk of all characters...who woulda thunk it? Quite original, and Hulk is one of my ultimate comic characters.

I'm going to go off the beaten path I voted for Hulk...but yes, in a biased way. If we're talking about the grey Hulk, in which the grey Hulk keeps Banner's intellect. That makes him an even stronger opponent.

I think Hulk would win, but only if Banner knew Supes weakness to Kryptonite. If Supes knew Hulks weakness to adamantium, which according to the Marvel Universe, is one of the only things that can penetrate Hulk's skin...then Supes would take our favorite Green Giant down.

However, if both knew nothing about the other and just clashed...I think we would be the losers. Can you imagine how much those two would destroy if they went at it? lol

      Voted up and awesome!

Oh you are absolutely right, Freya, I was just having a little fun! In some era's of comics they had the hulk walking around like a normal hero, explaining he didnt need to be angry to change or maintain the change but this always got old and they always go back to the original plan.

And I though Hulk's muscle created by anger and not by food nor by exercise. Terrifying Hulk. Sorry. I better keep that on my mind. ^_^ Interesting poem.
