The King X

Updated on July 21, 2012

Bound in chains and armor,

he stood before the crowd his peers,

once a great king of valor,

a man condemned to death by them all,

they hated it what had he become?,

across from him stood his love his all,

but it wasn't enough not this time,

together they were forbidden,

she was a maid unfit for his bloodline,

He cried he screamed he reached out,

but these chains held him to his post,

condemned for what their hearts felt,

the people roared they screamed and cheered,

watching as knives dug in spilling their blood,

rocks were thrown as the wicked crowd sneered,

how could you ever love her,

shes a bitch a piece of trash,

just a sickly peasant un-pure,

you realize you've condemned her life,

she'll die she'll never breath again,

underneath this moon by this very knife,

oh god he thought but it was too late,

she cried for him called out for her love,

soon hers would be his untimely fate

their eyes glowing the madness in them,

he felt it with every arrow that pierced his flesh,

it would not be enough to just kill him,

he would suffer the ultimate price,

his life to given gods of the old,

hers handed to another vice,

somehow as the moon set and the sun awoke,

his voice began to rumble a deep booming roar,

within this king this mortal man it spoke

its cackle in their stunned silence echoed,

eyes piercing red a grin upon its face,

the city erupted in flames and so did they,

consumed by rage he'd burn this place,

they took it all his love his life his world,

for this theyd die surely end by his own hand,

because for him she was everything this girl,

to their horror to their utter defeat,

they screamed they begged for forgiveness,

but for his lover they had never weeped

completely consumed by the cities fire

he destroyed it all, his kingdom his life,

the world had nothing left for him to desire,

empty and alone in a world so cold,

he held her in his arms hugging her tight,

this would be the last time she'd be his to hold...

Pain, loyalty, love, sacrifice...I love this poem. It's a little creepy how each scene played in my head like a movie. You're writing is beyond good.

Sometimes when you love someone, nothing else matters and god help the people who try to stand in your way.
