The Legend Of The Loyal Knight

Updated on June 4, 2017

The knight rides swiftly on the wind
The moonlight glitters on his helm
He’s racing bravely to defend
His everlasting realm

The palace woken from its rest
The thief he startles and his sword
Drives sharply through the armored chest
The coward steals no more

The knight, he has a new project
They rest exhausted by an elm
His squire he teaches to protect
The everlasting realm

A village burning down in flames
The good knight and his protégé
Came to the rescue but their names
Forgotten to this day

The knight now has become the wind
Smoke floating gently from his helm
Still racing bravely to defend
His everlasting realm

So if you're out among the dark
Prepare yourself, he leaves his mark
He rides until the end of days
Protecting them always

A great rhyme you've written here Lissa Clason; flowed very well and enjoyed reading.

      Thank you.
