The Less Traveled Road, the Challenge

Updated on March 12, 2017

Challenges of life, some greater than others, each a road traversed,

Many are common, just a few steps taken, some to be unrehearsed.

Those hardest of journeys, ones trying and tough, not to be coerced,

Rare in their transgression, determined progression, to be well versed.

The exceptional response to adversity, the grandest respect to any foe,

An understanding heart, so plays such a part, behind the lines to know.

The careless and violent refrain, nothing positive to gain, a hostile blow,

While children grow to men, their adult lives to begin, models do so show.

When enemies threaten to attack, not to turn one's back, or hide away,

Standing strong all the while long, refusing to back down, much to say.

Every action has a reaction, no matter the faction, as violence is to play,

Reminders of the past, help given, and to last, keeps misconduct at bay.

In times of turmoil and unrest, the worst met with the best, body and soul,

Roads travelled the least, in scope to be increased. the work, as two-fold.

The strongest in spirit, their resolve, deeper problems to solve, those bold,

When challenges are profound, met with courage, so sound, we all do hold.

"An understanding heart . . . behind the lines to know." It amazes me that you come up with meaningful topics as frequently as you do. You're one of God's useful vessels.
