The Lost (Memories of the Gone)

Updated on February 3, 2010

Into the void the mind does go

Even time does not slow

When each thought is through it carries away

Dreams of you and the memories that stay

Into the night the old memories merge

Apart from themselves they urge

Darkness comes the past recurs then is done

Gazing upon thoughts of another one (Memories Of The Gone)

Each night the past returns

Haunting the living occurs

Then their is utter cacophony

Lost in the ultimate atrophy

(Memories Of The Gone)

Memories are a thing of the past

Fate is sealed the die is cast

Ghosts of things that could have been

Destiny sealed the thoughts within

Lost in the darkness of regret

Thoughts of those you can't forget

Lay your head down on the bed

The memories of those who are dead

(Memories Of The Gone)

Remembrance, embrace the past

Deliverance, deliver me at last

Where are those who are gone

Left this world with things undone

Seek to embrace the thought

Of those who learned what has been taught

Memories are to take away

The loss of life we feel today

(Memories Of The Gone)

Good poem! Memories can be so painful sometimes.

      Compelling; thought-provoking; sad....

      I love love hubs like this; and love the rhythm of it;

      thanks for sharing it, Arthur.
