The Lost World Of Lonely Hubs

Updated on September 5, 2010

Sitting And Waiting To Be Discovered

The world is so big

How do we get there from here?

There are so many places to travel

Why would I read that hub anyway ?

Maybe I never knew it was there ?

I listen to what other people say and I visit the most popular hubs

I am influenced in the direction I think

I sometimes drift but soon I am back where I started

Only an hour ago it seemed

I have certain things on my secret agenda that I want to get done

I have certain topics that move me to know end

I am looking for all the things that make my life complete

That finish my thoughts that I think

Like people who are my friends that I text at every moment

The new tires I bought that better last on my car forever

My favorite joke that I can't wait to tell

There is only so much time in a day to tell my story

I have to work and make money to pay my bills

I have to clean and keep my home a wonderful place

I have to keep my family happy at all cost

My responsibilites are constant rising

To keep my energies at bay

My family and friends keep me so busy

Today I am going to sail away

To the place where unread hubs lay

Waiting to be noticed and praised with love and emotion

Having great potential but never given the chance to spark

What keeps them from their life ?

Poor spelling and grammar that makes hubbers cringe

Is it a poor title that doesn't catch the interest or a subject of little concern

So lets visit the home of an unread hub

Lets forget its name and think of it as the most popular hub on the planet

The one filled with secret scandals the government forbids and tries to hide

We can do better than that

One with a new title that begins with Sex, Love, Money, Rich and the Wealthy

It drives hubbers in the milllions to see it instantly

It holds their interest with every word

It shows pictures that are funny and crazy too

That have wild colors that glow in the dark and hypnotize the eyes

The sexiest girls in the world every man pants too

Pictures of natures forgotten beauty or just things I want to see ?

One look at this hub will set my imagination free

It will take me on a musical ride that entices all my memories as a child

Having animals that I love so much

A picture of a dog that reminded me of Boomer my favorite pet

The shocking words that compel all my emotions to be dragged through the mud

Getting me so worked up that I can't even see straight

I mispel ever word in an attempt to make an angry comment

Maybe it will have the love we all search for

The picture of a 68 Jag I would die for

This hub has so much more

It has sticky glue that won't let you leave without a fight

No matter what you click on this hub comes right back in your face

Like that cigarette or drink you can't put down

The cat that jumps on your lap and soon goes purrs constantly

This is the hub that creeps into your mind and will not let you sleep

Like the scariest horrror movie that still chills you to the bone

This hub has a new name

One of ultimate fame

So to all the hubbers that have hubs that lie like books on the shelf

Take a minute and clean them off

Move them around and push them like your yard sale gone crazy

Give them new life like that itch you have to scratch

Put them front and center like your wedding day you remember or the divorce you can never forget

Wait to see your traffic explode

With links and tips that will send it off into space

Only to end up on the next computer or laptop

Where it will finally be seen and read

Like the biggest blockbuster movie of the week

The greatest video game ever made

The house that was bought with no money down

That friends still say it really didn't happen

A song that you keep singing

Because you realized you have found the love you need

In words that you made

Which now has a home

In all the people that read this half story half poem

I guess we have all been there one time or another.I think we learn courage to move on.When it happens it is devastating. You feel so crushed and it is a hard thing to accept.I think when things don't work as you planned they turn into dreams like waiting for the XKE.Thanks for sharing and maybe your dreams may come true sooner than mine.I will be right over.

      Dream On,

I certainly understand the frustrating impatience of "sitting and waiting to be discovered"...something like being all dressed for the Big Dance and your ride never seems to show up!

I try to put it off to being the "New Guy" and relish every time someone reads one of my hubs and leaves a comment.

Still, a couple of my favorite creations languish unnoticed like shy children sitting in the corner, and all I can do is give them a pat and assure them that someday they too will have their day in the sun.

I have to that '68 Jag you mentioned an XKE? I read recently that Jaguar is considering reviving the XKE and I began salivating at the thought. Uh, need a napkin?

This was a fine introduction to your library of hubs, I think I'll spend much enjoyable time browsing.

Especially for writers, it is recommended you have a back up storage. Since Hub pages stores most of the work but in any case its always good to have a back up when you have important info on the system. I, myself being a Computers person have committed such mistakes a lots of times of not backing up. And yes Mac is a better option if you have the $bling$!

Nellieanna I appreciate your explanation of what went wrong with the computer. So many people just tell you a little about life and leave out the nuts and bolts and all the facts.I am always asking to learn more and ways to avoid mistakes that others make.I feel why go down the same road that led to a dead end when you can tell me and I can try a different road that has a scenic view and gets me where I want to go.I am a slow mover for change.I don't see the need to upgrade and change when something works so well. The world we live in wants to keep changing for the fastest and more modern.Sometimes it is as little as 6 months and people say we don't do that anymore.I would still be typing my poems on the electic typewriter if it could be fixed.I would of still been using my word processor if it didn't go caput.I love the changes but when they have to be made not just because people have to have the latest and newest thing.I enjoy life so much where I am at right now.I am still going through my old notes and trying to turn those into the computer age.Every day is busy and filled with new commitments and challanges.Work is fine but it cuts into every aspect of my life.I have learned you can only do so much.I am amazed how busy your life is and how you manage your time. You are definitely a great time manager and are good at setting your priorities straight.I am an such a big dreamer I live in many worlds at once.I constantly enjoy all the things I do but they are so seperate and complete my day in unique ways.I am learning to be a master at mixing the special blend like a bartender who makes the perfect drink.May this day bring you more happiness.Good luck in your progress.I will be excited to see your next move.My goal is to live and love life a little more each day and show others how to in an uncomplicated way.Talk real soon.

Well - they restored my computer to what it was when I bought it and managed to save my data, which I was going to save on an external HD when my computer shut down. I was on the phone with techs most of that day from morning till 11PM!

But every since it's been very flakey. Right now, it could just suddenly give me a blue screen & message it was dumping everything, among other glitches.

But the tech called me back last evening in follow-up & set up a time Saturday to call back. This time they'll totally reformat it & put my data back from the external HD, on which I did get it backed up.

Don't tell Dell but I'm seriously shopping for a Mac!!!

I'm envious! I have so many books I want to get read. Seems time flies by so fast. I'm trying to play my piano or keyboard at least a little every day. My stuffed teddy named Ludwig van Bearthoven is a tough taskmaster!

Also trying to type up my many volumes of hand-written poetry, go through several file boxes of memorabilia (mostly from my parents, which is fascinating stuff from the late 1800s on through their lives) - do taxes, manage my ranch & my late husband's estate, write & read hubs, read some other journals & periodicals, keep up with friends & family, take care of myself & stay healthy! When car & computer glitches happen - it's really inconvenient! LOL. But less so than being ill or senile so I'm very thankful & pleased with everything overall!

One of these days I'll do some watercolors & sewing. But - - - ;-)

Dream On- thank you! That is most certainly a gracious compliment! Thanks!!

I'm getting to following up a few things but have been tangling with serious computer problems. Usually I can straighten out whatever is amiss but not this time. In fact I'm sitting by the phone waiting for the tech to call me back right now. So I'll be brief.

      Hugs -

Amazing! So much "reality", both focused & concentrated.

I've heard that if we could see, hear, feel, smell and taste the entire spectrum of those senses which exists, we'd go stark raving mad. The sights would be from all times and places; the sounds would be so much they'd be a cacophony of ear-splitting noise; we'd feel everything possible simultaneously till our "feelers" would hurt; we'd taste everything from garlic to mint, sweet, sour, salt, etc - so intensely all at once our mouths would blister.

At times it seems we can almost do that, just pausing to contemplate those limited senses we do have the synapses to detect and/or to receive.

Perhaps the secret of sanity is to keep all of them in perspective, or view only a few at a time -or realize their temporariness at all moments or to realize we really have a choice what we want to focus on and how.

Thanks for this intense glimpse of much of it all at once. Very well done and presented. I'm definitely rating it up, awesome and useful!

What a wonderful half story half poem. It goes without saying that time is our enemy and their is a world of things to get done. The comfort of finding a hub to bring us back to give us a reality check is gold for many of us. Not needing to find the most popular but simply throw a dart and let it land on a hub, read and enjoy and leave a comment, how painful is that? lol..loved this write, you are a talented writer. peace
