The Love He Gave

Updated on March 27, 2015

You are lost and cannot be found
You are lonely and nobody is around
What you seek from others is never real
For who they are is not what you feel
It is time to become who you really are
Yet each day the journey seems so far
You see their eyes and wonder about love
But is their approval all that you are made of?
The frivolity of the night beckons once again
Yet in the morning you wonder who is your friend
Look for yourself and not to another lost soul
For what is not right will never make you whole
It is your own heart which you must seek
And what you will find you will forever keep
For the world cannot harm what God can save
And you will always be the love that he gave

@Vellur, midget and Liz Iz Beautiful - Thank you so much for your very kind comments. I am big on knowing your own worth; not to be arrogant but to stand tall and be the best you can be because you understand you are worthy of all the good things in life.

Absolutely a hard core truth webbed as a poem. I always believe that you are your own best friend. You should appreciate yourself and love yourself the most cos you come alone in this world and you will go away by yourself alone.

      Have a lovely day.

Epi you are a deep well of graciousness, humor and warm feelings. I truly appreciate what you say because this is just a hobby that I started four years ago and it's become so important to me and the reason for that importance is the reflection I get from people such as yourself and all the others who take the time to read the random musings that occupy my mind. Thank you...

.....well you're pretty hot stuff yourself Mister Mark and poetic master that you are - you have a gift that the Gods of Writing gave you and you've earned the highest degree there is - you are not just a Suburban Poet - you are a poet for the whole world - and there are many of us who admire your art and craft - beyond suburbia - and it's a forum like Hubpages which makes the world a far smaller place indeed.

lake erie time 7:56pm and sending you warm wishes and good energy - are you still listening to Dave Mason?

Thanks, Mark. All is well, but I'm not ready for Christmas. Still catching up with LAST Christmas! Literally! ;-)

Fact is, Christmas is chasing its own tail. It will start again in Jan., no doubt. I miss Christmas when that's what it was.
