The Loveless Motel

Updated on December 10, 2012
Source

I pulled into the Loveless Motel
checked into my room...
it looked and felt... just like hell

I could tell that you... had been there before
I heard someone crying loudly...
in the room, right next door

Broken hearts were scattered, they lay all around
I looked for your memories...
no where to be found

A bunch of sad lies,
they sat on the bed
held together loosely... by a thin ugly thread

Lonely souls were hiding, with the kitchen light off
I told them I could help...
only to hear them all scoff

Promises of Love... floated,
in the ugly musky air
waiting for someone to listen... someone who cared

The phone wouldn't stop ringing,
I threw it against the wall
it broke into tiny pieces,
Love's passion... trying to call

I had to finally leave,
I couldn't take it no more
all glared... from the windows
like unpaid whore's

When you find yourself on that road..
lonely and lost
don't you stop at the Loveless Motel,
because your heart it will cost

Your soul will be a deposit,
you can not get back..
once you close the door behind you,
it's love's final act...

A great question maybe of selling ones soul... losing a heart. Very deep; as yours usually are.

"It's Loves Final Act"...Sums up your Poem so Beautifully Cleaner. Lost and alone at a Loveless Motel is a very Poignant read...I think if we live long enough, we can relate to a "time" of feeling this way.

Love this one Michael. Very clever! It reminds me of that movie Leaving Las Vegas with Nick Cage.

      What a great gritty write--

      A bunch of sad lies,

      they sat on the bed

held together loosely... by a thin ugly thread

      Love that--
