"The Lucky One's" by Eric Wayne Flynn

Updated on August 12, 2015

"The Lucky One's"

All at once, truly, the blink of an eye

Out of thin air, an appearance, an angel from the sky

Instant to feel, blessed, well within grace

A soldier of love, fallen victim, to the sight of a face

Crawling in from the battlefield, a bleeding heart, man; always in need of repair

Casualty after casualty, unrequited, testify in the name of love, so we challenge, so we dare

To ask, to plead, to beg... to be loved; the one thing that can save the soul

Down by the river, speeding, reckless, two bodies out of control

A dangerous agreement, it is, bathing each other in sin

All the world a blur, chemicals rushing, fate sinking in

Destiny it be, down deep, the teeth, lust altered into love by a soulful summer night

Two, falling, hopelessly, falling, two, bonded, with no particular end in sight

A declaration, a vow; echoing in eternity; the offspring come of blood

What we make of this world, we make together, what we make of it is love

So say the lucky one's

Hi Dana, that's the funniest thing, the biggest and baddest succumb to the concept of love; a sirens song to pacify any beast, and yet make some into monsters.

As beautiful as love is, sometimes we can feel like a victim; only because we are so vulnerable to someone else.
