The Mars Connection

Updated on August 4, 2017

Seems only in our dreams, imaginary, as candy bars,

The Red Planet, a close neighbour and is so nearby.

Some have said, that perhaps from there we all came,

As then our minds all take flight, so far away we to fly.

Appears so dry and dusty, precious water is all gone,

What odd catastrophe, over years as time has flown?

Could we have been far advanced, so beyond us now,

How did we come to the earth, tell me that, just how?

Could there have been a great event, a disaster,

An asteroid's collision, a meteoric reign of fire?

What would have led to our demise, or to flee,

Leaving that world, to escape, in times, so dire?

Mars, the ancient god of war, and of agriculture,

Chose the violent route, rather than the sedate.

Perhaps battles got out of hand, beyond control,

As all tried saving their selves, but much too late.

What mode of travel did Martians pick, advanced or crude,

Did they arrive in golden ships, or of a meteor's remains?

Planting their feet on earthen soils, or bacterial sediment,

As a planet, once home, wasted away, across the plains?

Are we of Martians or just to be Earthlings, every last one,

While we stare at a setting sun's light, as the day has run?

Did we evolve from the soil, or were we made all in whole,

Answers we seek but never may find, as our search is done?

Agreed that the questions may be suggestive of healthy minds. You make us know that we who wonder are not alone. Thank you.

Some scientists think there may be some real connections. There have been areas that looked like waterways and routes of travel. Thanks for stopping in. Blessings. whonu

Super musings here, whonu! As I've just done a hub about Mars your title was particular arresting. I wonder if there are any connections between our two planets!
