The Message in a Bottle

Updated on November 30, 2012

Anan is an online blogger and private consultant since 2009 in the areas of relationships and interfaith spirituality.

To Whom it may concern;

I don't know who you are, or where this letter may find you. But I am sure that we have a lot in common. We have made mistakes , loved and fallen prey to hate. We have prayed and hoped, even if we denied it fervently.

We have had dreams and expectations for our lives, even if they are just a passing wind in our distant memory.I am sure that you were walking along the beach thinking about the things that are lost, but not forgotten.

Wishing that things were different. As I am here sitting in this peer, thousands of miles away,writing this letter. So that you, only you, would find it. It does not matter where I am, for my name is inconsequential and my home is everywhere.

Let it suffice to state that the best of me can be found between these lines. My life is reduced to what my words can express, so is my intentions to give the last breath in me to surrender to God. A journey of a thousand steps that ends here.My hands are empty, so is my bag of blessings. As I have given them away to anyone that will accept it.

There are no bonds to this life of mine and that is why I can offer what I never had. So that you could see a glimpse of hope in yours. Yes. This vessel has traveled across the sea to reach you in this very moment, at this hour. Yes, God listens to your prayers, and walks along side of your weary heart. So your pain is his pain.No matter what is missing in your life, or what you think you lack, he completes you. He makes you whole.That is the message, He loves you! And so do I...

Blessings...

      Such a beautiful message in your words. What a great idea and a wonderful slant on the 'message in a bottle'. We could all do with such a message. Up, beautiful and useful. Ann

      YES! I love to. Sorry about that. My mind is not the same or as sharp as before. My cognitive sharpness is declining. Unfortunately my Multiple Sclerosis is destroying my ability to express myself. You would laugh at the first drafts; or me spacing out for minutes at a time just to find out what I wanted to say. Sooner than later, I will have to stop writing. I am just glad that most readers understand my gibberish.... :)

      ananceleste, your writing is so pure from the heart. It is a treasure. Kati, my wife, is from East Germany. Like you, English is not her native language. I love to help her with editing her writing. Sometimes there are marvelous insights in 'mis-spelled' words. For example, she once wrote a sentence that I had to ponder awhile to get her meaning. She wrote 'worts' instead of 'words' in "Worts don't do it justice." It has become a favorite saying between us.

      Such things do not diminish the spirit of your writing and it seems commenters are well able to feel the pure energy behind your words. Still, you may appreciate spelling correction. If you like, I will point out such words in your writing, as a friendly editor.

      This is much the same way I found all the important things in my life. It seems God works very hard to bring things that we need to us at just the right time...

      Bless you, this poem comes at a time when looking back at the things lost seems to be all I can do today.

      Celeste, The truest hearts throw love at all they meet , in a simple smile ,in raising a child of beauty , or in making love to another , or on a little piece of paper in a bottle thrown to the turning seas. Awesome.....
