The Mighty Mite
The Mite is often to be a big carrier of Scabies,
And several of those most terrible of infections.
Commonly are found on all sorts of our animals,
Are several of these, do cause many selections.
Dogs and cats are often those preferred victims,
All are sure to come in some sort of the contacts.
So it certainly always pays in our checking each,
Of our little pets, their fur, as the usual inspections.
Human beings are as transmitters of some kinds,
Types of these mites, and a passing on to others,
Chiggers are another name that's so troublesome,
Are usually associated with and are all as brothers.
These skin rascal's bites are so often all passed on,
Sometimes their sources not to be found, unknown,
Some may lead to the most horrible of all diseases,
As there's much scientific evidence, it's to be shown.
They feed off of the tissues of most animal species,
And not of their bloodstreams, as it might so seem,
Typhus and a pox are problems so commonly seen,
Found to be as an evidence, of these critter's results.
Their sizes all vary, as some are tiny, almost unseen,
While our focus often belongs to much larger types,
Whatever symptoms, such as itching, rashes, soars,
We must all to remember our help, of all our consults.
Our little rascals, the mice, often to be seen carriers,
These all are very filthy and are not to be very nice.
Dwellings, homes, where they most commonly abide
may hold these creatures beneath them, and inside.
Please be on the lookout for these nasty little insects,
Never in our forgetting this, it's the wise that inspects.
Go to a skin doctor, if you don't know what else to do,
Because the ones who suffer most, our little ones, too.
