The Minstrel's Dance

Updated on October 10, 2010

 As the moon grows full-

   on this October night-

I see them arrive-

   under the cloak of night-

I see their instruments-

   of life and death-

Flash with joy and pain-

   as they dance-

Chanting to a thousand-

   different interludes-

Weaving tales of ancient lore-

   long forgotten-

And just as queitly as they came-

   they left-

Taking lutes and guitars-

   Daggers and swords-

Going back to the lives-

   they knew before-

Roaming the countryside-

Singing their songs of life and death-

And every year they gather-

   Underneath the full moon-

Of October-

  To sing their ancient songs-

And leave once more -

   The Minstrel's Dance-
