A Dog Day or Angel in the House, 1902

The mouse told the cat,
"You're nothing but a rat!"

The cat told the mouse
"You're nothing but a louse!"

The two chased each other
Like a bratty sister and brother.

All the while,
The dog on the tile
Watched in wonder
How enemies play without asunder.

"Why do you two pursue?"
The dog growled as they passed through.

The mouse and cat answered the dog:
"Who cares! Join us you clog!"

So the dog chased the mouse and cat
And their day ended like that.
All three enemies having fun
While on the run.

Ah that's a lovely poem. I bet the dog had fun watching the cat and the rat!

Most delightful. Really enjoyed this. I'd even like to read this to my cat Sid. He gets the most funny expressions when he is trying to understand what mama wants from him. Just loved this. I have all the characters a cat and in this case a rat in the garage.
