The Mystery Walker

Updated on January 2, 2014

The mystery walker, the dirty talker,

embarrassing the undercover squad,

always out of their sight,

as they charge up and down the Avenue

every other night,

emphatic,

jacking up evening ladies,

johns and addicts,

they don’t care,

and coming nowhere near

the elusive mystery walker,

if justice could preach,

maybe she’d hear,

but she’s always beyond a detective’s reach,

the other ladies on the street,

working hard, tired feet,

would say that she went this way

or that way,

it’s a crying sin,

she had no permanent address,

and she moved like the wind,

she’d walk for miles,

welcoming smiles,

pulling tricks,

a $20. hound defying,

every law of metaphysics,

and their search started to sink,

which made the department think,

that she was nothing more than folklore,

a translucent wraith,

but she walks the streets,

car door to car door,

immune to the forces of authority,

even the under-covers couldn’t make a deal,

some paid their $20.

and swear her to be real,

but it only seems,

that she was but the stuff of dreams.

When I read Epi's poem couple of minutes ago, I thought this will be my last reading. But had I logged off, I wouldn't have been blessed with this finest poem.

Never stop letting your trusted mind go. It simply knows how to go go go but then suddenly slow . I know quite a lot about the streets , she no folklore, she's definitely real, the stuff that only dreams are made of.

      You captured her well .

"Seems that only you is able to pull of such a trick!"

      Well done, Frank.

      Blessings
