TNTMSB - The National Text Message Spelling Bee -

VH1 and Sprint present....The 2015 NTMSB

Welcome to the 5th annual NTMSB or National Text Message Spelling Bee! Please give a warm welcome to this year’s participants. We began with 219 kids representing all 50 states and now we are down to our final four! The competition has gotten plenty fierce as our contestants are on their quest to become the 2015 NSBC, or the National Spelling Bee Champion. Let’s Begin!

Our first Semifinalist is Kevin Lowski. Kevin is 13 and a seventh grader at Ridley Middle School in Beaufort, NC! Kevin is a popular student who enjoys video games, movies, and roller coasters. Kevin also came in third in the 2014 National speed texters contest!

Announcer: Numerical text for Too Much Information

Kevin: Can you use it in a sentence?

Announcer: OMG, My parents are making out! I hope that’s not ____!

Kevin: Too Much Information…..5-1-1…Too Much Information.

Announcer: Oh Snap! That is correct! (Applause)


Our next contestant is 14 year old Neera Sanan. Neera is an eighth grader at Lincoln Middle School in Binghamton, New York. An honor roll student, she enjoys reading and math and is also president of the French club. What a nerd! Give it up for Neera Sanan!

Announcer: At the end of the day.

Neera: At the end of the day…ATEOTD….At the end of the day.

Announcer: No! LOL, the correct acronym is @TEOTD. Sorry Neera!


Up next is speller no. 38, Aric Sanders. Aric is a seventh grader at Dunbar Middle School in Derby, Arizona. His interest include Music, Sports, and skateboarding! I shared a smoke with Aric outside before the contest and he is one cool kid!

Announcer: Parents Are Watching.

Aric: Parents Are Watching…..PRW….Parents Are Watching.

Announcer:That's right! You done good Aric!


Our last semifinalist is Aamir Saeed. Aamir is a sixth grader at Bloomington Middle School in Richmond, Va. He enjoys Poetry, the violin and classical music. Get a life Aamir!

Announcer: That Stinks.

Aamir: Can you use it in a sentence?

Announcer: Did you fart? _____.

Aamir: Um…That stinks…..TS?....That Stinks?

Announcer: Nope! The correct answer is PU. That stinks…PU. Kinda like your answer!


Final Round

We’re down to our finalist, Kevin Lowski and Aric Sanders! Aric will go first in our final round. OMG!

Announcer: Way Cool

Aric: Can you use it in a sentence?

Announcer: Winning the Text Spelling B would be _____!

Aric: Way Cool…..WKEWL….Way Cool.

Announcer:That is correct! Ahhh yeah!

We have our winner! Aric Sanders is our NTMSBC! Let's have a round of applause for Aric and the other contestants that have participated in this WKEWL event! Great job everyone, and just remember you're all winners...except for the losers! This has been a VH1 and Sprint Moble presentation, tune in next week for the season premiere of High School Baby Mama's!

      Loved it Weestro. I am an old fart so don´t know about all these text message short cuts. Whenever I try to abbreviate one has a clue what I´m talking about. Great observation and humour as always. voted up etc.
