The Nature of Time

Updated on July 26, 2013

What is time ... is it clouds...

flowing across the sky

is it the sun... exposing..

my warm thoughts of you

Is it the song of the sparrow

a beautiful tune..although

" it will make your heart melt

and take your breath away"

it is tinged with sadness

for we are apart

Time is the special words you wrote

disguised as poetry,

but the reality of... a broken heart

exists within a cat...with nine lives

Me ..I am the solitary wolf ...

calling out in his singular song

from the vast wild ..I know all too well

Time is the moon... lighting up the night,

bringing forth...the nocturnal love that I feel,

knowing you are there...

and I am here

The Nature of time

can not be written...by any man

it can not be painted.. by any artist

It is in my heart...It is in my soul ..

.when I see all the Time

I am without you... near

Time is an enigma, a mystery. Perhaps it is just a human concept, but however you want to define it or measure it, it does exist. In bits and phrases, in old men's faces, in those 9 lives of cats, in our gray hair, and crows feet eyes, in the growth of a child, a tree, the decaying of a dead body, a car running on its last few miles. There are signs that show us time and how life passes and moves on. Nothing is ever still or immobile, even the mountains start to wear and tear, falling rocks and detriment, corrosion, evolution, these are all signs of time. Lets hope we can age as gracefully as the mountains and trees.

A lovely poem. When we were at school, a song we learned was about time. It began, "Time, you old gypsy, will you not stay, Put up your caravan, just for one day.." Unfortunately, it waits for no man - or woman either!

Amazing poetry here dearest Michael. So very lovely as to the nature of time and a special tribute to cat with her nine lives . . . beautiful!

Your choice of imagery is stunning.

Yes, indeed . . . fine poetry from a fine poet, but you already know it!

      Up and sharing

I am not a poet, Michael, but I am a poet at heart, and I can greatly appreciate fine poetry when I see it...and I appreciate this poem very much.
