The Night 7 Candles Woke

Updated on June 17, 2017

In a flash the lamp stand,

Ever so aglow,

Voices in the trembling buzz,

Proceeded through providence,

to awaken:

Candle one exclaimed in the misty night,

by the stars I’ve been given a fright!

candle two said to one you give way to me,

for my laws govern pure necessity,

candle three too busy, singing a tune,

appeared to others to be a quite a loon,

Five wanted to care for the sick,

especially one’s wounded wick,

candle six ponders what it ought,

lost in the deepest thought,

candle seven warning of imminent doom,

when the master wishes to light up the room!

maelstrom of candles quarrelling now,

When candle four showed a skeptical brow,

Fight you must, you will never see,

You are all here because of me!

Ty, I wanted to add a description about the candles themselves, but I will let the reader decide on their identity, why kill the mystery?

An interesting verse, Michael. I wondered where candle four was, but he made his presence known. Thanks for sharing.
