He Who Stands Alone

Updated on December 6, 2013
One of the many.
One of the many.
Eyes of an eagle and keen in vision.
Eyes of an eagle and keen in vision.
This man soars high above the rest.
This man soars high above the rest.
He has suffered great injustices in his resolve!
He has suffered great injustices in his resolve!
He has been victorious in his attempts.
He has been victorious in his attempts.
His truth sets him free.
His truth sets him free.

A true leader

There is one who always stands up and alone,

who personifies the meaning of Patriotism, bold,

He represents the truth, and gives his very best,

while suffering grave injustices, untold.

He is in honor, a reflection, of the Founding Fathers,

those great and noteworthy men of the past,

Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln, would be proud,

in his shadow, that this man has cast.

He is the essence of what a congressman is to be,

as he stands tall above all the rest,

This respected servant works harder than most,

while not taking his term in some jest.

He makes his own decisions, is not influenced,

nor to be coerced by the powerful few,

He means what he says, and follows through,

in everything that he says and to do.

He was elected by the majority, and of a democracy,

in this grand nation of ours,

From the grass roots of our American values,

as we have derived our own just powers.

One man, who stands alone, and is very tall,

as strong as a rock, in his resolve,

There is no problem that he won't address,

It's solution he will find, this to solve.

Let no others falsify him, or call him unjust names,

For above reproach, and so pure of heart, is he.

A great representative of the common people,

No finer in devotion, the meaning of strength, to be!.

Very nice poem about what our leaders should be and some who try hard to be. Yes, there is one & always will be that defies the rest that are just there for the money & not the people.

And too, there are others that are just common folk who personify these qualities. My dad is one. He fought in the Vietnam war, started a plant from scratch in China, and has the qualities you mentioned above.

Very nicely done. Definite thumbs up.
