"The Poet of Bus 99" by Eric Wayne Flynn

Updated on February 9, 2014

"The Poet of Bus 99"

En route on a commute to the end

En route on a commute, destitute with a pen

En route on a commute in a moment of zen

En route on a commute lightning strikes the page again

Deep in thought creating with my tool

Creation is recognized inspiration, that's my rule

A thought bubbles inside my head so big it's got to get out

Dot, dot, dot then a cloud, raining words... so long drought

On a roll, rolling in my office on wheels

A starving artist in love, head over heels

With life, laughter and love

Blessed with a gift and all i needed was a shove

A slap in the face, a cruel kind of brutality

Your dreams chase you, while truth runs down your reality

A heavy dose; pen is still in my hand

Prescribed by no doctor, i'm a self medicated man

Removed from society, exiled from North Main St, a cast away on vacation

Screeching to a halt, i'll find you all again, when my bus reaches it's destination

I'll step off into the sun, a maniac with wit, sharp as a blade

Ready to cut deep with irremovable impressions of ink that never fade

      Eric,

      "...heavy dose..."

      Bus 99!

      Clearly YELLOW!

      Definately BLACK!

One fixed destiny for you my fellow poet.

Keep riding that bus: Your words are not yet known to you (black), but they are your bright wealth (yellow); put em down!

      -Christine

Bravo to the poet on the bus, one day I hope to accidently bump his shoulder say excuse me and never realize the moment that was missed! Jamie
