The Power of One (a poem of inspiration)

Updated on June 27, 2015
The Power...the glory of one...
The Power...the glory of one...
One voice...one figure to mean so much...
One voice...one figure to mean so much...
a voice is greatly amplified in its goodness and righteousness...
a voice is greatly amplified in its goodness and righteousness...
to circumvent the globe in its fond message of hope...
to circumvent the globe in its fond message of hope...
Every greatest faith to serve as an example of its strength...
Every greatest faith to serve as an example of its strength...
Its splendid honor beyond reproach...in unison spread...
Its splendid honor beyond reproach...in unison spread...

Can one individual, who dares to stand alone,

Make a difference, and one that really counts,

As the world around him seems out of control,

While stress and pressures felt, so mounts?

Does one domino matter so much...in its fall,

Then striking the next in succession, each,

A circumvention of the globe, in this news,

Then the question of one...should all beseech?

One vocalization, of a soul...history proves is so,

A solitary figure so bright, may tell all, to know.

A scriptural quote, its Biblical source, to show,

Provides the heart and spirit so strong, to grow!

Ask Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, about one voice,

Beloved leaders...stood, grandest acclaims, by choice.

Followers of each precious faith, an infinitude, devoted,

Yes... as one, these great figures, an inspiration, noted.

Every voice, so amplified, in its truth...strong, its veneration,

Passed onward to the next, as so honorable, its admiration.

Growing in amplitude and to glow in righteousness, its word,

Each host, far greater... as an explosion, its message heard.

We all influence the people around us all the time, some more than others, some friends or acquaintances, others strangers that we may never see again. Those of us who write on sites like this one affect many people and we will probably never know how many. Maybe only one or two people will read our poems or stories or articles, but they may take those ideas to many more, and so there is the ripple affect. We are all setting examples all of the time and all of the time influencing and affecting the people around us and even people who may be at a distance but who know us and keep up with our activities.

One person is more powerful than even they likely are aware of themselves.

Oh how I love 'being one' and standing alone whonu. You have really found the ultimate word. I voted it up++, shared and pinned it.

Basically, I think all religions want the same thing in essence. If we understand that we all have differences, it will bring us a little closer together. I think tolerance should be the key for humanity. Nicely done as a reminder.

Your poem reminds me of Psalm 22 where it says: "The shall be told ...to a future generation and ...to a people not yet born." Interesting.

Since the dawning of time, one voice has made the difference in humanity's future...It is ours. We have the future of this world in our very hands. We may build it up or tear it down. If we regard ourselves as a domino...one that is a singular part of the universe and with the ability to pass the good news onward...a vital cog in the machine of life...our power is without limits and an awesome force, as we are blessed by God. Thank you my friend. whonu

The splendor of the one well glorified here. And alas we must take it to heart for we are the one.

One person can make a difference. Just imagine the impact if a bunch of "one persons" stood up!
