The Proving Hand

Updated on December 20, 2010

How may a Father...

Love His people if He never raises a hand...

reproving children to stave off disaster...

heat, wind, freezing, death, plague...

evidence of the Master's loving touch...

does our living in this mortal realm mean as much to Him as it does to us?

Heaven forbid, and to that He proves His people...

sees if they will do what He asks...

cleansing the earth of those who defy him...

but only when they refuse His hand....

Hear now a prophet who asked another to smite him...

a simple thing yet one refused...

upon his disobedience a lion ate him...

by the lion he was proved...

To another child He asked his child...

a thing that made the man shudder anew...

a hundred years in making this child...

yet the sacrifice He asked still...

The man assented his blade he lifted...

an angel halting him, declaring his success.

If a Father doesn't prove his beloved...

what can he expect of the rest...

To His Christ He asked one thing...

His blood a proof of love for them...

to offend the world and all in them are...

that none could deny the Sons of God...

He proved His Christ would obey...

doing all that was asked to the last...

even when the Father went away...

the Christ never cursed nor forsook his task...

and so it was when the Christ said it was done...

all the world shuddered at what was proved...

then demanded of men a blood recompense...

and risen again was the Holy One...

Deny not the hand of Justice...

even Pharaoh learned that much...

'Tis a hard love to the masses...

to prove His law isn't a bluff.

then to the law and the testimony...

If He hasn't proved Israel and the Gentile nations once...

a thousand times more apropo....

He proves them as He dares they prove Him...

obeying Him in faith to feel His loving embrace...

by the hand of Justice He proves them...

until the dross melt away from the ore...

the fires proving the ore is gold.

I am glad I intrigued you. Perhaps you would like to explain how you saw it.

very interesting. Depending on how you interpret that, it could be either pro or anti-religion. Very interesting indeed.

That is what I meant by proving and he expects no less in the way of proving from us even if our Gethsemane's aren't the same.
