The Road Poem

Updated on December 13, 2011

The Road

The Road

On a lonely road paved with rocks and thorns,

Lies my heart, bruised and torn.

A river of tears so dark and deep.

A haunted soul that never sleeps.

Alone I face what others cant see.

I hear the voices that whisper only to me.

I bare the hurt like Jesus bore the cross,

I am atalked by the memories of the things I’ve lost.

Each time that hope plants a seed,

The wounds of the past open and bleed.

Is there light in this forgotten place?

Will I ever feel the sun kiss my face?

I am alone where there is no light.

I wander lost on the road of life.
