The Rocks Would Shout: Inspirational Poem
The Rocks Would Shout
If my voice aphonic be,
Insects would chirp in symphony.
The sun would glare and flash and beam.
The moon would shimmer, sparkle, gleam.
Volcanoes would erupt with thunder,
While I stood by in speechless Wonder.
The sea would roar.
The gulls would clamor.
My muffled tongue constrained to stammer.
Flowers burst forth in brilliant hues.
My voiceless words did ne'er suffuse,
the glory that the earth doled out.
Trees clapped their hands.
The rocks did shout.
