The Rose Queen

Sits upon her thrown

She has worked hard

To get here

She sits alone

Until she finds her King

One who is worthy of his thrown

She has escaped the pits of hell

The many arms trying to drag her down

She has slayed the dragons

From far and beyond

The Queen looks in the mirror

At all her strength and beauty

That still remains intact

Not leaving her yet

Penetrating from deep within

She keeps looking deep inside

The mirror

Thinking of all the pain

All the goodness

All the stray thoughts

Left behind

She smiles to herself

At the treasures she has woven

In her life

At one point

She thought she would never survive

Only having her thoughts

To keep her alive

She started filling her head with roses

Filling all the corners of her mind

The roses were her best friends

They gave her the will to

Smile again

To survive

I love the poem its pretty much spot on. But what I really want to say is I applaud all those who chose to stand up and move on, because its extremely hard. You only have one heart and when its broken its almost near impossible to fix leaving you with a shell. This is how I interpreted this masterpiece!I voted up

The roses- despite the thorns remain beautiful and a symbol of great strength and inner power.

This poem is as lovely as you. *smile*

Mmmmm...the Rose Queen - of course! The beauty and the thorns of life and - she came out smelling like a Rose! She deserves a King worthy of her courage and strength and this beautiful poem deserves to be voted up and shared!

      Hi caroline.

A nice story and hopefully a happy end for the "Rose Queen"

Hope she managed to get rid of the bogeyman as well.
