The Shattered Mirror

Updated on August 29, 2011

The shattered Mirror:

Epilogue:

This is the girl’s reflection in the shattered mirror

Drafted to live in a world of endless tests and horror

For sorrow has started to tasted appealingly sweet

As the raging fire in her soul will no more retreat

To the outer world she faked a smile while dying from the inside

In her eternal torment she has decided to live and reside

Yet every kindly heart knows a point beyond which it shatters

And after which nothing else has significance, or even matters

For even if she extended her hand when life turned pitch black

She had no guardian to steer her through her journey and back

Ignited, hopeless words, drive her madness to insanity

Way beyond the wasteland of hope love and humanity

Conflicting thoughts, demons resurfacing from within

Eating and claiming her world, while watching it crumbling

Ember to Inferno, watch her soak in her tears now

Pleading to the merciless sky, watch her bow

Next to her tears she lays bleeding

Prisoner of life she spent it crying

She has lost faith in a higher power in life

As she was destined to grapple with strife

In the ashes of the tormenting lies of life she dies and resides

Bleeding from the outside, dying from the inside she hides

Moment after the other he inflicts pain on her fragile soul

Tearing it wide open leaving behind an empty hole

Yet she was weighed, measured, and destined to fall

And he was the spectator who watched her crawl

With heartless words that were determined to crush her spirit

Razor like blades, they aimed to destroy yet will she survive it?

She held her tears as they burned her spirit in silence

With words unspoken she was claimed by the darkness

For she was life’s sacrificial pawn

Tears restrained with no right to moan

Can you look at my reflection in those trembling words?

Or do you still claim both girls to come from separate worlds?

The wind on my back with only the presence of my shadow

I’ve swallowed the pain let it sink, until I turned hollow

Haunted, while dreaming and yearning yet never receiving

Praying for the will to live, dying yet never seen breathing

Cast between the living, yet dying with every single moment

Dreaming wide-awake, ironically living equates torment

Oh can’t you see the withering lights of a soul tested beyond threshold?

Where even in hope, belief, and faith she failed to find her stronghold

For every soul has a frequency with which it lives suppressing darkness

Beyond which it resonates with the self-claiming destruction of madness

For she is the daughter of apathy, dismissed with falling fists

Yet can you finally see her sorrow with mine as they coexists?

Broken, she and I lie lifeless about the misery in life unable to tell

Betrayed even in death as it claims our bodies hers, its vessel

Fragile in every single way, depleted beyond rejuvenation

For we were directed to the land of post-mortal damnation

Even in death we were incapable of escaping the agony

As her soul resides in mine playing death’s symphony

Now the mirror lies broken on the floor, shattered

Where life’s insignificant, as nothing ever mattered

Yet in her death they only saw the insanity

As her Eulogy spoke of nothing but instability

For she was invisible and broken to all the world but the mirror

To the shattered glass that reflected her pain and my horror
