Where is this Sea Castle?

Updated on March 4, 2013

Dream travel destinations

What the eyes see the mind wants and I really want to visit this castle by the sea. There's only one small problem, I have no idea where it is. I can't even remember where I got these two photos from but I suspect I got them at two different times from two different sources because in one photo there are pennants flying on the minarets.

I'm posting this photo because I'm hoping that someone out there will know where this castle is and tell me so that I can visit it too. Have you seen this castle before?

You will be rewarded

If you do know where this amazing castle is and can tell me then there is a reward for you. Not a bad deal, eh? So here's what I'm offering. If you can tell me the exact location and or name of this castle then I promise to think of you kindly while I'm standing on one of those balconies, drinking red wine and watching the sunset. I'll even send you a postcard when I'm there. I know what you're thinking "Wow, that's the best offer I've had all day!" No need to thank me. Now stop you're swooning and tell me where this place is!

Help me find this castle

Please, if you know what this castle is called or where it is located, leave a comment below telling me. I'd also be very interested in seeing any other photos of this picturesque place if anyone has any?

Frankly speaking the image is stunning. This building is called Swallow's Nest ( Ukrainian ) on the top of a cliff in the Crimea, near Yalta, overlooking the Black Sea and the information about it is available at this url:-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swallow%27s_Nest...Yo... can even watch this video about the same place at this url:-

Thank you GetitScene .Take care do not walk on the balcony at the rear left side of the palace's tower. It looks loose and lost its underneath rocky ground as the Youtube video shows.

It's a fantastic that places like this still exist in the world, isn't it? I firmly believe that if everyone had to visit the top 5 most beautiful places in each others country then there would be no more wars or prejudices. The only problem with that idea is that everyone would want to move to Australia after visiting!

It is very similar to a castle near Lisbon, in Portugal - but that's not it.

2patricias, do you know the name of the castle in Lisbon? If it looks anything like this I'd love to take a look at that one too!

Ahoy, MysticTurtle. Good to see you over here at Hubpages. Just joined myself and it's nice to see a familiar face from Squidoo.

Absolutely gorgeous. Even looks better than the Disney one. Well.... I hope you will be thinking of Mahmo while on the balcony of the Castle, as he has kindly supplied you with the info you needed.

      Bon Voyage...

Oh I'll be sure to post photos of my visit. I'll even take a few pictures of the meal I eat as I understand the the castle is now serving as an Italian restaurant.

The pictures are beautiful and they remind me of another castle near the water -Mont Saint Michel in France. You can see pictures here http://thebesttraveldestinations.com/mont-saint-mi...

I love seeing and visiting castles of many kinds. European castles have lots of high pointy towers and great views. In Japan I visited almost a dozen with fascinating no-mortar construction and beautiful wood buildings. Great pictures here too, looks like a fun place to visit!

I had the experience of living in England for 2 years and got to visit some castles then. Amazing stuff. I still prefer my boat, but I guess a castle is a pretty good second choice.
