The Smile Infection

Welcome

As always I welcome you to my humble abode and may it be here you find rest and some peace and a warm crackling fire.

Here we are slamming the door on January and hopefully that furry rodent finds what we are all looking for this year. I stand firm and say I have had enough cold and winter. Then again when you step out into a winter wonderland like I did this morning you just smile and say well a few more months will be OK.

Gather around and get comfy for my third attempt at this world of poetry that so many have mastered. Thank you for being so kind in your comments... stop a while and know that you are dearly loved from Canada...

Time to Stop

Evening shadows spread across the new snow

The day has gone from new to old

Time spent in reflection is time we can all question

What I have done this day to make another life glow.

In the dark of the eve we shed our frustrations galore

Seeking peace from the race we have run

Emails and calls we have taken from us robbing and stealing

Draining from us till our bodies are sore.

Technology has become a part of what we call rest

No matter where we turn it is with us

We say we can do it and yes I agree

Boundaries and limits we set can save us such stress.

Take time today just sit and write the duties you preform

What is taking the most time of the day you call yours

Now write down the name beside each and soon you will find

The day you call yours is in need of reform.

What do you hold dear, family and friend

For they will be with you no matter what comes

Take the time to consider the things you have read

Sort through all what is important to even the end.

There is such great need from left to the right

Of other less fortunate as we look into the night

What can I do to reach to those in need

Can my efforts tonight make another’s day shine bright.

A coffee, a candy a smile or note of cares just something so simple

Will bring much joy to the heart that receives

And lighten the day

And best of all you will get a smile and a peek at a dimple.
