The Smile Infection

Updated on January 31, 2013
Source

Welcome

As always I welcome you to my humble abode and may it be here you find rest and some peace and a warm crackling fire.

Here we are slamming the door on January and hopefully that furry rodent finds what we are all looking for this year. I stand firm and say I have had enough cold and winter. Then again when you step out into a winter wonderland like I did this morning you just smile and say well a few more months will be OK.

Gather around and get comfy for my third attempt at this world of poetry that so many have mastered. Thank you for being so kind in your comments... stop a while and know that you are dearly loved from Canada...

Time to Stop

Evening shadows spread across the new snow

The day has gone from new to old

Time spent in reflection is time we can all question

What I have done this day to make another life glow.

In the dark of the eve we shed our frustrations galore

Seeking peace from the race we have run

Emails and calls we have taken from us robbing and stealing

Draining from us till our bodies are sore.

Technology has become a part of what we call rest

No matter where we turn it is with us

We say we can do it and yes I agree

Boundaries and limits we set can save us such stress.

Take time today just sit and write the duties you preform

What is taking the most time of the day you call yours

Now write down the name beside each and soon you will find

The day you call yours is in need of reform.

What do you hold dear, family and friend

For they will be with you no matter what comes

Take the time to consider the things you have read

Sort through all what is important to even the end.

There is such great need from left to the right

Of other less fortunate as we look into the night

What can I do to reach to those in need

Can my efforts tonight make another’s day shine bright.

A coffee, a candy a smile or note of cares just something so simple

Will bring much joy to the heart that receives

And lighten the day

And best of all you will get a smile and a peek at a dimple.

Hi Sue... Thank you so much for stopping, your smile brightened the room and the hearts of all who gather here. We all encounter others who are having a hard day, there are times we find them looking back at us in the mirror. It is those days I remember others offering a gift and I know it certainly made a difference for me.

      Hugs and love from Alberta

      Hi Rolly,

You have brought a smile to my face and have taken the chill off a cold winter day.

Little things like sharing a hello or a smile is a win win situation for the giver and the receiver for it nurtures our heart and soul.

      Voted up and away

      Sharing

      Hugs from Toronto

Voted up and awesome. You make it all sound so poetically wonderful even the technology part. Loved that pic of the forest and the wooden fence making boundary because it reminded me of the woods in the Catskills where dad and I used to go mushroom picking in the summers when I was but a little girl. There was a rock fence and it always fascinated me and if we walked far enough in the woods I loved to sit on the fence with dad. So peaceful and quiet. Better days and less technology. Now I work at my PC while next to me on the laptop I'm watching old movies. Sure am hoping for an early spring. Passing this on. Hugs and best wishes.

Hi CrisSp ... no matter the dimple or not a smile can light the world... I bet if you were to smile hard enough there would be one there...

Glad you enjoyed this and the groundhog rodent missed his shadow this morning in this part of the country so you are right... spring is soon to be sprung.

Enjoy some of that sun for me please... take a few extra hours on the beach and think of me...

Hugs and much love... smile included...

That third attempt you talk about has given me a deepest perspective of what many days bring me or, better said, what I do with my days. Now I want some candy and just enjoy the night. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I have no dimple nor a set of white teeth to show off Rolly but that won't certainly stop me from giving out a sincere smile on and off duty. That's all I can offer the universe and I hope the world receive it with sincerity as well.

Great photos as usual and although I'm not a big fan of winter, I do appreciate the change of the season. Soon, soon my friend spring will sprung.

Thank you for this delightful read by the fireside.
