The Strangeness Of Love - Poem

Updated on February 19, 2013
Source

Intro:

This is an inspirational poem where the author is questioning the general understanding of what this, emotional concept of Love, is. This poem holds several meanings. Each reader might get different interpretation from this, and might find something that relates to them.

Hope you enjoy this piece......

Avoiding The Glances
Avoiding The Glances
Common Love
Common Love

Doubts.....

Avoiding all the glances, afraid to show what's inside
Why would it matter if there is no love in sight!

Falling in and out of love that didn't make any sense.
Reluctantly waiting for the strangeness to set in....

Heart didn't accept the rules that people play.
Love games, in general, seem too far away!

Knowing there is something that has never been seen
Her heart puts a cover, not to be lifted by any being.

Why love has to be common, that everyone feels?
Her heart holds a feeling that no one will ever seek

Trying to Understand......

Something that is not seen by mere lovers passing by,
tears are only known by the clouds in the sky.

Pure as the morning hue, tears of pearls, beneath the sea,
Not a single graceful diver will ever be able to retrieve!

Sensuous Flirtation, may not be what it seems,
Might just be a mere invitation to look at the soul within!

What seems as curious words, is just an innocent plea
To know that 'other', that holds her heart within.

The one who has touched her soul,
with the words and carefree past,
Is unable to recognize the glints that come,
Not from the eyes, but from the heart!

Hi, Romeo! Hmmm.... Is this the other side of the emotional Love? :)

Seems like romance runs in your blood, or should I say in your ink! LOL

Beautifully worded, and one can actually feel the love in your words. Thanks for leaving such a positive comment.... Always a pleasure seeing you in my corner :)

Good to read LaThing. Hmmm...a fascinating female perspective; emotional love....

      What is love?

A chance encounter?... a glint from an affectionate eye? When being without her is gloom, and Summer heat turns into Winter chill?...when a week feels like a mere minute in her presence?

Love never sleeps, even when a weary head rests upon the pillow...'tis an inferno of the heart, burning in the thoughts which animate actions with romantic passion. Love's radar chooses the finest of women, then invites the most worthy to enter the secret places...its quiet desperation is the long, unexplored tunnel of yearning between two lovers true. It is the Prime Mover of all things of any lasting value, and has the power to turn one's dream into substantial reality...its anger, righteous, its tenderness, soothing.

Love is forever young, still uniting even when arms cannot....the only vision to fill with perfection, the imperfect clicks between each blink of a swooning eye......

I loved you version of decoding love. Many has many meanings of love and what they seek out of relationship. Love what goes beyond life is love so divine. Love felt within inner self is above the common love may be. Thanks for sharing this one. Votes up and sharing too.

Love is universal yet interpretated in so many different ways. Love between two people is personal and no two people love the same way. I felt love in my life, been in love and wanted to stay in love, but not to be so. Now I live alone and have great memories of having tasted love as fleeting as it was to me. Yet I love, love and being loved, and yet I have not been able to stay in love. I hope I finally find it on the other side. Voted up and shared.

A Poem I wrote when I was separated from my Beloved, I will meet my Beloved in a couple of years...Sigh..

      Separation

O tree, where are your leaves?

O leaves, where are your branches?

O night, where is that radiant light?

O day, where is that serene twilight?

      Careful, their love is blinding

The effulgent sun, however merrily so, within, never rising, never setting

      Merely and intoxicatingly, Ah, existing

Lizzie, very beautiful and philosophical poem. Love comes from the heart, not always accompanied by words. One has to open the heart in order to see.

      Great poem!

Hi, Doc! That's an interesting story..... Men do fall in love different, and that makes it even harder for the women, LOL! But it takes both to build a solid relationship. Enjoyed your comment :) Thanks for stopping by, always appreciate your visit. Take care, dear friend!

I think Faith pretty much said it all. Now, I agree with you LaThing. The human mind does work in mysterious ways. For instance, men fall in love from a distance. You have to give him the space to miss you and experience life without you for a while without contacting him at all. This one guy from college who I wasn't interested in contacted me after x number of years. I made it very clear from the beginning. I remember once telling me to never contact me again and he still contacted me telling how much he missed me. Strange right how the mind and heart work. sorry I got off topic here, but I think we will never really understand the emotional part. Now, from what I have read, there are certain emotional triggers that some women know how to use in order to build more love in their relationship.

LOL, Yes, absolutely correct, Faith! And, yes, everyone will see this poem differently. This poem came about while I was discussing the emotional feelings with a friend of mine, and I think we were both talking about the same issue yet approaching it from two different angles. Human mind works in a very strange way :)

Really enjoyed reading about your take to this. Thanks for reading it, and giving it some thought!

Always appreciate your visit, Faith. Take care, dear friend!

I think that we will all be "questioning the general understanding of what this emotional concept of love is" . . . until the end of time, that is until you really have truly experienced true love and what that really is and what it is not, then yes, you will question. However, to me, it is surely not an emotion---it is a real, it is pure, it is divine, and we are only able to love, as He first loved us. We must also love ourselves before we are even able to attempt to truly love another unconditionally. If we cannot do such, then we will never know of this agape love. This is my interpretation, as you stated, each reader will surely have their own.

Interesting perspective written here. Voted up
