A Message From Strife

To write with the hand of Michelangelo,

his brush strokes bold, as perfection,

To shape our words and express their meaning,

as in Leonardo's skillful touch, on reflection.

To portray the musical brilliance of Beethoven,

a flow, with grace's best protection,

To create from the mind, as Shakespeare,

not bragging of these, without detection.

These are the qualities, mirrored in our admiration,

and all so striven for by each, in their deed,

modeling of the finest of the greatest characters,

and much to hope for, in our wish to succeed.

Our goals shall serve as the pinnacle, a summit,

and the ultimate, for us, to be conceived,

for with the absence of grand ideals in our lives,

there will be no victories won, and nothing achieved.

We value those who have walked before us each,

we marvel in their finest works, what they teach.

as we may all do our best, yet never, our all, to prevail,

the reward to come in the striving, for it's then we may excel.

A great work. We will never know unless we try. The masters give us inspiration, and perhaps a bit more to strive for.
