The Tarnish of Time.

Updated on April 5, 2010

The Tarnish Of Time.

Bronze Gods

pumping

pompous

biceps

on muscle

beaches

in vain

displays.

Perfect hair,

face and teeth,

humbling

lily-white

skinny bodies

who pass,

and those

whose pot bellies

obscure

their speedos.

Here's their

moments

in the sun

timeless,

savored,

but time's

a cancer.

In its passing

all are equalled,

muscles atrophy

age errodes,

handsome

eventually

hands out

some far

lesser rewards.

Even bronze gods

wind up

with flattened

cans buried

in landfills

we call

cemeteries.

Death is a

great equalizer

a weight we

must all carry

and press

to the backs

of our minds.
