The Things That Hinders Prayers..

Updated on January 6, 2012

Do you know how lucky you are, for the fact that you are alive and well
for the fact that you can see and read. Do you know it's a blessing.
Have it ever crossed you mind. You are alive is a proof that God answers
prayers.

All these are blessings, but today, most Christians don't consider themselves
blessed by these things.

You here comments like; God bless me; I need a financial break through; I need
a house of my own; God bless me, just this once, oh! God, please bless me.
Has God not bless you more than once, have you pause to say thank you to Him,
if not for anything, for the fact that you have mouth and can talk.God has blessed
you more than enough. Here is a food for thought

How long will you continue
Helping an ungrateful person ?

He who does not appreciate a little is likely not to appreciate more when given. This is one of the things that hinders prayers. How well do we appreciate God for the blessings He has showered upon us.The gift of life, sight, good health, salvation, to mention but a few.
Sin of-course is one of those things that also hinders our prayers,

Proverb 15:29 reads, the Lord is
far from the wicked.

Wicked, sinful men; envy, hatred, people who are full of deceit and every evil works.
You are asking God for Help, and you have not helped anyone, you are asking God for
mercy and you have sworn to pay evil for evil..
Who bless and evil child ? When you go to God in prayer cleanse yourself from every
sin, least your prayers become sin.

Have you being praying for days now, is it months or even years now and still answers haven't come. Ask yourself this question

Is your Heart right with God ?

Hypocrisy, people who teach what they don't practice, people who does things so people
can see, Wolf in sheep clothe. Lies, pretenders to mention but a few. this is another thing that
hinders our prayers, God want's us to shun every form of Hypocrisy.. Jesus one in the Book of
Mathew 6 : 21

And when thou prayest, thou shall
not be as the Hypocrisy are: For they
love to pray standing at the synagogue
and in street corners that they may be
seen of men.. Verily I say unto you, they
have their reward.

Again He in the book of Luke 18 : 10 -14, Jesus also warned. One made boastful remarks, the other humble Himself and prayed, we were made to understand that He who humbled Himself was exalted and the reverse was the case for the other man.

Let us admonish and examine ourselves with this few words, and let us ask our self, why
has God not answered me ?

God Has not lie, His every promises He keeps.. He has told us to ask and we will receive. My beloved, what is Holding you.

I will be more than willing to learn more to add on my Knowledge on this very issue.

Thanks for finding time to read

Gratefulness is a perspective of truth revealed to us when we have a submitted heart unto God. Entitlement, the mask for pride robs us of this precious insight. I believe once we understand all that we have is because of The Lord and it is really strength we receive from humility, we cannot possibly shed of this ugly mask. May we come to a place of thankfulness that we are moved by the fact we breathe and have another day to praise Him.

Thank you Capedium. My dad could be alive today but he was a heavy smoker and died from complications from emphysema.

      Have a good weekend. :-)

      Hi Capedium

I know I am lucky to be alive. My late father came to Canada from Scotland in the late 50's. The ship he was suppose to come to Canada on, sank.

Just because God does not answer our prayers, it doesn't mean he didn't hear them.

By searching our hearts, we will find the answers why some of our prayers go unanswered.

      Voted up and away.

      God Bless

Jeolipoo, I couldn't agree more with you.. Jesus made it very clear in John 15:7, "Abide in me and ask anything I will give".. How often do we hear christian pray; God, all I want from you is to know you more and more, how often do we here christian pray God, give me the grace to work in your vine yard all the days of my Life..

I appreciate your remarks.. Is like what the Good Book says, In everything give thanks.. But today we don't, we just one to always receive from God.. We forget He bless us each day. Thanks

Thanks Seek-n- Find.. I really loved reading your remark, and the Scripture reference you made, it reminded me how ungrateful the Israelite were, they had food to eat every day, and yet they complain, they were never satisfy, they quickly forget how they once pleaded God they wanted to be free from Pharaoh. They forgot how God stood and fought for them.. Thanks once again for your comment, it has given me so much to meditate on.

Our prayers are generally ones of selfishness and greed instead of thankfulness

Nice job. Sometimes we think God is not answering our prayers but His answer is "not yet" or "I have a better plan." Sometimes He put the answer in front of us but we never reach out and grab it. When God fed the Israelites in the wilderness, he made bread (manna) fall from the heavens, but they still had to go out and gather it. Sometimes he gives us the capacity to receive but we don't want to go out and gather! Just a few thoughts to add. Thanks for writing!
