The Third Time Is A Charm

Updated on November 7, 2016

Laying Back After Hitting Snooze Again

I just don't want to get up

This time forcing myself out of bed

It's cold and dark outside

Must I

I was sleeping so wonderfully

I don't remember my dream

It was on the tip of my tongue a minute ago

Then I dismissed all thoughts

Thinking I would always remember

How wrong was I

They are gone with the first early morning wind

My routine is simple

I slowly walk to the bathroom

Nature calls

After that I look into the shiny mirror

My eyes are like two quarter moons

The razor stubble looks like a baby forest sprouting

I rub my eyes and chin

As if to say here we go again

Our cat Charlotte standing tall

As mighty as the fiercest lion

Arching it's back and stretching it's paws

Silent and strong

Oh how I wish I could always be so bold

From a stomach growl to my left wrist ache

I clutch life filled with political uncertainty

Only three days away

To the presidential election

What should be a time of excitement and great enthusiasm

Is turning my stomach and making other people's blood boil

Lies to turmoil

The needless bickering between the remaining two candidates

Worst than a brother and sister always fighting

Who started first

It's not my fault

You are to blame

When are they going to learn to grow up

Start taking full responsibility for their actions

Working together to get what needs to be done

Set an example instead of whining

Help the people they are sworn to serve

Enough with the deceit and the dirty tactics

Show some real talent

Excel where they do best

Help each other achieve what no one else could

A chance to make some hard decisions

Face some difficult challenges

Earn peoples respect and honesty

There will be some awful mistakes made

There will also be some great achievements

That can be a stepping stone

Instead of cursing

About the problems we are in

Like a dropped egg and toast stuck in the toaster

Help work on a solution

Remember you are not alone

You are to direct the most qualified people in all positions

To do their personal best

The people of the United States are the ones who come up with the great ideas and the solution

Don't go there

Burnt toast and the smoke alarm going off

As you mumble under your breath

That's what's wrong with country as a whole

No one wants to work on progress

Quickly throwing their hands up in defeat

As again something else bad happens

I am going to bed

Really

You are going to keep going

Never seeing the error of your ways

You are the reason and the cause

So as we turn on the news and hear the latest scoop

Will the next president be the former First Lady Hillary Clinton and former Secretary Of State

With years of political knowledge who is unique and experienced

Then we have the complete opposite side of the coin

A long shot and you have to give credit for his tenacity

He says so many off the wall things

Donald Trump a business man with talent and skill

Who has made a fortune

We all know each one has their faults

They can't do it alone

If they work side by side

Maybe they can do more good

Instead of being a sight for sore eyes

Am I the only one who knows

It's not a Democrat or a Republican that matters

When both are far from perfect

It's time for change

With Gods help guide us for the next four years

To a safer world filled with prosperity

Gypsy Rose Lee I love to see many hopeful signs of a better economy and if the Unoted States does well many other countries can prosper as well. We are all part of an enormous pie. As we cut one piece it always touches the rest of the pie. Many ingredients makes up a nice pie. Too much of anything can spoil it. Thank you for reading and sharing. I just made another pie this time with lots of fresh blueberries and a touch of love. First we have to let the pie cool down a little. Then we all can enjoy! Thank you so much for reading and giving back endless amounts of joy.

I am hoping that something truly amazing will happen and that the next four years the US can regain the patriotism it so very much needs. After all it is my homeland and I want the best. Now if only the new president will be willing to cooperate.

Can relate both to the not-wanting-to-get-up dilemma and the desire for political change. You speak for many.
