The Tides of our Lives (a poem of contemplation)

Updated on November 6, 2014
Rolling in...then out...the tides...
Rolling in...then out...the tides...
The night tides roll out...
The night tides roll out...
We, amid the winds of change...
We, amid the winds of change...
bounty of the tides...
bounty of the tides...
Tides bring life...
Tides bring life...

The gifting tides roll in, as all our lives to begin,

Every hungry soul, and of a spirit, each is given,

Now every one to live, ours, in all our dedication

We, to give a record of each, that is so striven.

The morning tide, warming, such a welcomed one,

The life forces, all so widely spread, this in its gift,

All life is quenched, to provide for a thirsty earth,

In its fertile bed, as each ship of life is set adrift.

Is reliable, in its motions never to cease, the tide,

A dependable benefactor, in its waves, so strong,.

By each morning to come in, evening to withdraw,

Sea birds feed and to accompany, in their song.

The cooling tides roll out, their bounty strewn about,

Starfish brightly shine, as stars in a nighttime, brine.

Sea shells, blue and pink, so pale, each a story to tell,

A fondness, etched in waiting sands, warm moonshine.

You did great with this poem, the tides, shells, starfish, and all life; reading poems coinciding with the ocean sounds (is) very genuine.

Another beauty, whonu. Even without the photos, your words paint a colorful picture.
