The Times Are Changing, My Friend

Updated on February 8, 2017

The days each seem much shorter now,

As night's darkness looms before us all,

While a time of new change is in the air,

Our most inner senses to answer the call.

Every child of God, creature of this earth,

Each one is to be put here for a reason,

Whether in those times of such struggle,

or ones so good, changing every season.

News, so contrary to our ways of this life,

All of the values this country once had.

Changing of society to like more violence,

Causing to make us all feel so very sad.

Acts to place us in such a state of shock,

While each new dilemma, we do so face.

Our great country, its freedoms to revere,

Now to put us in a more precarious place.

Our once united nation, its citizens did support,

Is now so divided, so unlike in those past years,

Daily to anger, all is put before a televised world,

Each bad story told, so consummates our fears.

The present state of the world is now so shaken,

Rights to be denied, no longer joined, we're apart.

Is now the time for those of strength, all to stand,

Show the world we care, to make a move, a start.

Time always changes for the best, new days come, my friends,

The better new year soon arrives, while another one so ends.

We are all made stronger together and never to be torn apart,

Now finer goals before us to show, a just reward for every heart.

We shall overcome all our challenges, to be met in every way,

As followers of our chosen faiths, in our own ways we to pray.

Each soul is empowered by a God, his love to be so showered,

Upon all children of this world, where each one has so flowered.

Times are indeed changing. It takes a lot of courage and tolerance to keep our values and make sure our judgement is sound. This is a timely reminder of how to face these things.

      Times are changing.

      Violence seems to abound.

But that's not the whole picture.

So many good things are happening.

      Just take a look around.

The two things in this world we must never loose sight of - hope and our faith in the Lord. Nicely penned.

Your words show a vivid picture of the world we witness every day. Now for change to happen we have to think differently. For years there has been many problems hidden behind close doors. Don't you think it's time to open those doors and let fresh air in. I am not a political person and I let my true nature guide me from right and wrong. The past ten years have brought up many questions and still so few answers. Has the public been deceived to believe what politicians want us to believe to meet their own agenda. I enjoyed your poem. Sad but true. I hope your day turns out beautiful. So we all can see how that day can be repeated often but in each of our own special way. That to me my friend is living a beautiful life.

Yes, my friend, we can make a difference, just as a small mustard seed and as a reminder, "The Domino Effect", that it only takes one voice to start an avalanche of good tidings. Blessings my friend. whonu

Thanks for the reminder in these challenging days that our responsibility is to "Show the world we care, to make a move, a start." You're like a watchman on the wall. Thanks!

      Confession of truthful condition displayed, - you said exactly as it is ;

      hope that hope never failes

The nation raises again with trusting the God Creator.
