Poetry About Love: The Tin Man

Updated on September 27, 2012

Tin Man

A magnificent love, Powerful penman
Searching for my heart, I am the Tin Man

Days I spend faintly shining
Nights I am wining and dining

My world spins with perfect timing
My dome spins circles with no lining

I lost my father, hold on to my mother
Cried for my sister, Die for my brothers

Goodbye to my star in the skies above
My temple seems empty without your love

This mind of mine keeps contemplating
Seeing you again, I am tired of waiting

For days we stare at one another
We slowly grow to know each other

Hell burns between my two fingers
Heaven chills in the palm of my hand

My skin is the color of this earth
Your complexion reminds me of the sand

We sip passion flavored with anger
I watch good friends become strangers

Blood before tears, scars before words
Pride cannot escape the wrath of wars

Remember what we are fighting for
Inhale again and then forget

We grow from similar seeds
Into fragrant trees with no sticks

Speak good words or none at all
Together we blossom beneath rain fall

Water drips down your warm skin
Feel my lips on your warm skin

I found my heart beat once again
It rattles gently beneath the Tin

You've got some really great lines here. One of my faves: "We sip passion flavored with anger." Nicely done!
